Tomorrow (Oct 2, 2025) we enter Shukla Ekadashi 11th day of the bright moon 🌙
In the yogic traditions the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) has a special significance. The reasons are both astronomical and energetic:
1. Energetic Sensitivity of the Moon Cycle
• The Moon governs the mind and subtle energies (manas, prana).
• On the 11th day of both the waxing and waning Moon, the gravitational and subtle energies of the Sun and Moon create a balance that makes the mind more naturally inward and stable.
• Yogis found that meditation, mantra japa, and pranayama done on Ekadshi penetrate more deeply because the pranic currents are calmer and more accessible.
2. Pranic Flow in the Nadis
• According to yogic anatomy, the Ida (lunar), Pingala (solar) and Sushumna (central) channels alternate in dominance.
• On Ekadashi, these channels tend to come closer to equilibrium, making it easier for prana to enter the Sushumna.
Yogis consider the 11th day of the Moon so auspicious because the pranic, mental, and cosmic conditions naturally favour our subtle inner work.
