✨ Are We EVER Enough? ✨

Our latest article comes straight from the heart. It’s about body image, comparison, and that persistent voice that tells us we’re not enough.

We hear it from our tweens and even from our younger children. And we are also vulnerable to society's expectations of physical perfection. It’s everywhere—and it’s hurting us.

With powerful insights from eating disorder therapist Jenny our article asks:
❓ Why do we still tie our worth to appearance?
❓ How do we stop the cycle for the next generation?

Let’s start changing the conversation.
We can all play a part and .

❌The side effects of low calorie diets!
✅Eventually your body will react and when there is no glycogen left to use for energy, your adrenals will secrete cortisol!
✅Cortisol then releases glucose into the blood stream so it can use it for energy!
✅This is the body’s back up system to keep your body functioning.... it’s clever! But you want to avoid this situation!
✅You DO NOT want your body running on cortisol...

➡️➡️Increased cortisol levels can result in:
➡️poor digestion and concentration... also bloating!
➡️low mood
➡️fat storage around the middle
➡️weight gain
➡️fatigue
➡️increased risk of injury especially if you’re sporty!!
❤️Fuel and Nourish your body because you deserves it :).

⭐️Rest and Recovery is important! In any sport!
⭐️Why am I taking a rest this week from exercise?
⭐️Well because I train a lot, which puts a certain amount of stress on the body! I've also been working long hours, which also puts a lot of stress on the body.
🔥 I know the signs and I know when my body is tired....LISTEN to your body! When to take a rest from exercise? Yes rest, you are allowed to do nothing ;). ➡️➡️SEE the SIGNS:
➡️Feeling tired all the time? ➡️Focus is becoming harder?
➡️You're craving salt and sugar?
➡️You're increasing your caffiene intake?
➡️Your digestion is bad, e.g. increased bloating and constipation
➡️Your performance in your workouts is suffering?
💥You"ll be surprised how much your body can run off adrenaline, but at some point, you'll burn out! Take a rest, and notice you may even start to feel hungry! ➡️➡️Stress suppresses the appetite!

➡️➡️Under stressful conditions, cortisol provides the body with glucose by tapping into protein stores via gluconeogenesis in the liver. This energy can help an individual fight or flee a stressor.
💥However, elevated cortisol over the long term consistently produces glucose, leading to increased blood sugar levels!
🔥I'm not one the rest.... it's not easy.... however do yourself the biggest favour and rest, because you'll come back stronger and with more energy!!

⭐️The Gut Brain Connections and Your Emotions!
⭐️Join for a interesting panel discussion!
⭐️Liz started working as a Body Psychotherapist and Biodynamic Massage Therapist, she noticed the deep link between mind and body and how emotions are experienced, understood and processed at different levels of our being and how our past unprocessed experiences can still be held in our body including our digestive system.
⭐️Myself I had suffered with ongoing IBS issues for years, and I soon discovered the fascinating relationship between the gut and the brain. ➡️➡️The Gut-Brain Axis plays a major role in digestive function. Little did I know I was storing past trauma related issues in my gut, which can contributed towards my digestive issues!
➡️Signals from the brain can modify the motor, sensory, secretory, and immune function!
⭐️Numerous data argue for a dysfunction of the brain–gut axis in the pathophysiology of IBS!!

🖤PAIN IS TEMPORARY 🖤 - but it was easier just to run....
🔅Exercise is great don’t get me wrong, but when taken too far, as I know too full well... it can do more harm than good!
🔅Excessive Exercise is a way to manage anxiety. But It just felt easier not to ‘feel’.
🔅Excessive exercise is coupled with people who also suffer with anorexia. Many Years ago I went from being anorexic, and found myself another obsession.... running.
🔅Exercise produces endorphins... makes you feel good!! But too much can have profound side effects on your body...
Hormone issues, thyroid problems, digestive problems which can lead to gut permeability. This can cause nutritional imbalances.
I can safely safe I no longer wish to push my body to the point where I refuse to listen to it. Learn from this. HONOUR YOUR BODY!
‼️Have you thanked your body today? Have you been kind to yourself? Please do it as I wish I was kind to my body. ❤️❤️ @ Bromley, Bromley, United Kingdom

✅Part 2 - How stop calorie counting!?
✅A healthy microbiome is important to keep your digestive system ticking over efficiently.
✅scientists are learning there are other health reasons to feed your gut bugs.
Certain types of fibre are fermented in your large intestine by gut bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids, which have been shown to help improve immunity, reduce inflammation in your body!

❗️How to stop counting calories!?
❗️Are you sick and tired of constantly counting those numbers every single day?
❗️Do you want your mind to be free of numbers?
❗️People who struggle with perfectionism, OCD, and obsessive personality traits are more prone to getting hooked on the numbers!
❗️Counting calories can cause stress and anxiety which isn’t healthy for our metabolism or our digestion!
Your body is very good at telling you what it needs :).

✅How to support your friend with an Eating Disorder? BUT without you getting triggered ?
✅A great question I had from a young lady, and this was my response :).
✅It’s always essential to surround yourself with people who have a good relationship food.
✅Try to avoid surrounding yourself with people who talk about dieting all the time.
✅Revisit your recovery goals if you feel certain situations have triggered some ED thoughts !
