What fantastic results from 4 sessions of scar therapy over 6 months for a client that had a cesarean birth.

They came in with reduced sensitivity and odema from lymphatic fluid pooling around the scar, leading to a over hang.

We started treatments at the end of May, and this week was the 6 mouths since their first session. The client feels and has seen a considerable difference in sensitivity, and the scar is now hardly visible.

Alongside treatments, my client followed all aftercare given, including self massage techniques to use at home plus using recommended products.

Its world mental health day and this seemed very fitting for show how massage can support clients. This is written by Suean Finnley an expert massage trainer, I had the pleasure of meeting and training on her Oncology Massage courses.

Today is and the overall objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.

'Most people associate massage with the physical benefits it can bring, and rightly so, as there are many! However, our bodies are incredibly complex; our mental health can affect our physical health and vice versa. Massage is not just good for us on a physical level, it also has myriad benefits for our mental wellbeing'.

This is an excerpt from my blog post a few years ago and it still rings true today. When taking a holistic approach when treating our clients we can address not just the symptoms, but the causes of many mental health conditions.
