We know that starting treatment, especially after something like surgery, can feel like a big step. That’s why we focus on making the whole journey as smooth and supportive as possible, from booking through to recovery.

Hearing how our team has helped someone move forward after an ACL repair, feel confident in their treatment, and see progress session by session is exactly what we aim for every day.

A big thank you for the kind words, and well done for the hard work you’ve put into your recovery too.

Sharp heel pain when walking - what could it be?

That sharp pain in your heel isn’t something to ignore, and there are a few common causes we often see in the clinic.

Conditions like plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendon issues are frequent culprits, but it can also come down to how your muscles are working, how much time you spend on your feet, or even your footwear.

Because everything through the foot and calf is closely connected, small issues can build up over time and start to affect how you walk and move day to day.

Rhys talks through what might be behind that heel pain, and why getting it properly assessed can help you deal with it sooner rather than later.

Whole-body care, all in one place in Andover.

Everything we do is centred around helping you move better, feel better, and get back to doing what matters most to you.

Our team brings together a wide range of expertise, allowing us to take a joined-up, holistic approach to your health. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing ongoing pain, or simply looking after your wellbeing.

From osteopathy and manual therapy through to sports therapy and rehabilitation, we focus on understanding the root cause of the issue, not just the symptoms. Alongside this, our massage services and medical acupuncture support pain relief, recovery and relaxation.

We also offer a range of complementary therapies, including reflexology, Indian head massage and nutritional therapy, helping to support the body and mind together.

Whatever brings you in, our aim is simple: to listen, understand, and support you with the right treatment plan for you.

Why do I feel constantly tight, even without an injury?

That “always tight” feeling is something we hear a lot, and it doesn’t always come from a specific injury.

Often, it’s the result of everyday habits building up over time. Things like posture, how you move (or don’t move), sleep, stress, and even nutrition can all influence how your muscles feel. Overworked areas can stay in a constant state of tension, while others compensate, creating that ongoing tightness.

You might also be feeling the effects of muscle imbalances or trigger points (those stubborn “knots”) that restrict movement and keep things feeling stiff.

Matt explains why this happens, and how the right treatment and approach can help your body feel more relaxed and move more freely again.

Why won’t my knee pain go away?

Persistent knee pain is often a sign that something hasn’t quite been addressed yet, rather than something you just have to live with.

It can come from a number of factors: doing too much too quickly, previous injuries, or irritation within the structures of the knee itself. But very often, it’s linked to muscle tightness, imbalances or restricted movement around the joint that continue to place strain on it.

Rhys explains why knee pain can linger, and why identifying the underlying cause is key to getting things moving comfortably again.

Pain isn’t just physical, it’s influenced by what’s happening in your nervous system, your mindset, and your day-to-day life too.

When you’re stressed, your body shifts into a “fight, flight or freeze” state. In this mode, everything becomes more heightened, including how strongly you feel pain. Muscles tighten, the nervous system becomes more sensitive, and discomfort can feel more intense than it otherwise would.

That’s why part of effective treatment isn’t just addressing the area of pain, but also helping the body slow down, reset and come out of that heightened state.

Matt explains how stress and pain are closely linked, and why managing both is key to long-term relief.

What’s the difference between an osteopath and a chiropractor?

It’s a question we hear a lot, and while both focus on helping the body move better and reduce pain, their approaches can differ.

Osteopathy tends to take a more holistic view, looking not just at the joints, but also at the muscles, movement patterns and wider factors that might be contributing to the issue. Treatment can include hands-on techniques, soft tissue work and tailored exercises to support recovery beyond the clinic.

Jolene breaks down the differences and explains why a whole-body approach can make a real impact when it comes to long-term results.

Is back pain just part of getting older?

It’s a common belief, but it’s not necessarily true.

While our bodies do change over time, ongoing pain isn’t something you simply have to accept. In many cases, the right combination of treatment, movement, and simple lifestyle changes can make a real difference.

Rhys explains why back pain can improve at any age, and how getting the right support can help you move more comfortably and confidently again.

Why does sitting all day cause lower back pain?

Our bodies aren’t built to stay still for hours on end. Long periods of sitting can place sustained pressure on the lower back, reduce movement through the joints, and allow muscles to tighten up, all of which can lead to discomfort over time.

The good news is, small changes can make a big difference. Regular movement, even every 30–60 minutes, can help reduce stiffness and keep things moving as they should.

Matt shares why desk-based routines often lead to back pain, and some simple ways to break the cycle without needing to change your whole day.

Is your back pain actually coming from your hips - or, what could be causing it?

It can be, but it’s not the only possibility. Pain in the lower back, hip, buttock or even down the leg can all overlap, which is why it’s so important not to make assumptions too quickly.

Sometimes the issue may be coming from the hips, sometimes from the joints in the lower back, and sometimes from muscles or nerves creating a very similar pattern of pain. Stress can also play a part, especially when tension builds in the back, glutes, jaw or neck.

Jolene talks through why back pain isn’t always as straightforward as it seems, and why understanding your history, symptoms and the bigger picture is key to working out what’s really going on.

Can neck tension or jaw clenching cause headaches?

Headaches don’t always start in the head. In many cases, they’re linked to tension building in the neck, shoulders or jaw, areas where we tend to hold stress without realising it.

When these muscles stay tight for long periods, they can create pressure patterns that trigger headaches. This is especially common for people who spend long hours at a desk, clench their jaw, or carry stress through their upper body.

Rhys explains why this happens and why addressing the underlying tension can often make a big difference.

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of popping down from the clinic to be there for the Community Lifting Day hosted by Velocity Gym. It was fantastic to see so many people coming together to train, test their strength and support one another in such a positive atmosphere.

Being neighbours with Velocity means we get to see first-hand the dedication and encouragement their community brings to training every day - a big well done to everyone who took part and a thank you to Velocity for hosting such a great event.
