Can you protect your ears from tinnitus? Yes, and it starts with small, everyday choices! 👂

Tinnitus can be caused by many factors and often occurs spontaneously. One modifiable factor is exposure to loud noise. When your ears are exposed to high volumes, the tiny hair cells inside the inner ear can become permanently damaged. Once this happens, it can lead to ongoing ringing, buzzing, or other sounds, known as tinnitus.

The good news is that there are simple ways to help reduce your risk:

• Keep headphone and earbud volumes low
• Take regular listening breaks
• Follow the 60/60 rule: no more than 60% volume for 60 minutes at a time
• Step away from loudspeakers and noisy environments whenever possible
• Wear ear protection at concerts, festivals, or when using loud tools

At The Ear Place, we believe prevention is just as important as treatment. Protecting your hearing today can make a lasting difference to your hearing health tomorrow. 🎧🥰

🚨WARNING - Uncomfortable noise

This week is Tinnitus Awareness Week, a time to shine a light on a condition that affects an estimated 10–15% of people worldwide.

Tinnitus can sound like ringing, buzzing, hissing, or whistling in the ears, sometimes constant, sometimes intermittent, but always life-changing for those who experience it.

That’s why we're proud to support Tinnitus UK to help raise awareness and offer reassurance. If you’re living with tinnitus, you are not alone, and support is available.

Protecting your hearing is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of tinnitus. Simple steps, such as limiting exposure to loud noise and using appropriate hearing protection, can help safeguard your hearing for the future.

Together, we can continue to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support those living with tinnitus.
