A Gentle Reminder to Road Users -
In recent times, many of us within the funeral profession have noticed an increase in impatient drivers cutting through or overtaking funeral corteges.
We understand that life is busy and roads can be frustrating, but we ask for a moment of reflection and compassion. A funeral cortege isn’t just a slow-moving line of cars, it’s a loved one’s final journey, and those following behind are often grieving deeply.
When we drive slowly, it’s not to inconvenience anyone; it’s a mark of respect for a life that has been lived and loved. Every family deserves the dignity of travelling together, undisturbed, for those few precious miles.
Please, if you encounter a cortege, take a breath, slow down, and allow it to pass peacefully. One day, it could be someone you love taking their final journey and I’m sure you’d hope for the same respect.
Small acts of patience and kindness can mean the world to a grieving family. 💜
