Your calf muscles are sometimes called the body’s “second heart.”

Each time they gently contract, they help pump blood back up from the legs, supporting healthy circulation.

But when we sit for long periods, this natural pump becomes quiet.

Next time you are standing in the kitchen, waiting for the kettle — try 20 slow heel raises.

Lift your heels… pause… then slowly lower.

Small gentle movements can help:

🦴 Strengthen the feet and ankles

When we’re under pressure, the shoulders protect us. Over time, they forget how to relax.

In Tai Chi & Qigong, we don’t force the body. We soften it. We breathe. We allow tension to melt through slow, flowing movement.
