Six months ago, I started running as a way to challenge myself both physically and mentally. On April the 12th this year, I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon.
I stood on the sidelines watching family run the London Marathon in 2025, cheering them on and feeling so inspired by the atmosphere, the dedication and what the body is capable of when you commit to something bigger than comfort.
It feels surreal to say that I already completed a half in December, but this first one taught me so much: about patience, discipline, listening to my body and pushing through moments of doubt (probably also because I had only eaten half a sandwich that day!)
As a massage therapist I spend my days helping others look after their bodies and feel their best. Running has helped me deepen that relationship with my own body and even more than ever before, understanding recovery, respecting rest days and appreciating just how capable we are when we give ourselves time and care.
It’s always good to have a goal. Something that keeps you moving forward and focused. It’s not about being the fastest or the strongest but about showing up and putting the work in.
I’m fundraising for Diabetes UK so if you have the time to read and donate I’d be ever so grateful 💙🤍 link is in my bio x
