Harpin's Funeral Service

Harpin's Funeral Service has been providing services within the local area for over 90 years. We’re also available 24 hours a day on the phone.

In 1930, Leonard and Vera Harpin purchased their first Rolls Royce. Through hard work, this soon increased to a fleet of two hearses and thirteen limousines. The limousines were originally used for a variety of purposes, such as weddings and not kept just for funeral work. They also hired the fleet to Funeral Directors in the area who didn’t own their own vehicles. The teams at our funeral homes will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process. We have a large selection of memorial masonry for you to choose from. We are also able to arrange additional works such as inscriptions and renovations on existing memorials, as part of our service, we will assist you with the completion and submission of the appropriate documentation. We are so pleased to share that Harpin's Funeral Service has opened a new branch in Normanton.

Being able to support families within their own community means a great deal to us. Our aim is simple - to provide compassionate, personal care and steady guidance at what can be one of the most difficult times in life.

Our Normanton branch is led by Sean and Sara Harpin supported by Funeral Director Jane Britton. Jane is proud to be part of the town and is dedicated to ensuring every family feels supported, listened to and cared for from the very first conversation.

Whether you need immediate assistance, are thinking of the future, or would simply like to pop in and say hello as you're passing by on the High Street, you will always be warmly welcomed.

Passed away suddenly at home on 16th January, aged 71 years.
Beloved wife of Kevin, much-loved mum of Craig & grandma who will be dearly missed.
Christine’s funeral service will take place at Wakefield Crematorium on Wednesday 11th February 2026 at 2pm.
