Screens overload your brain. Reflexology helps you switch off.

We live in a world of constant pings, pixels, and pressure.

Reflexology offers a rare pause, a moment where your body and brain get to rest and rebalance.
Sessions targeting the head, eyes, and stress points are particularly soothing for those who spend long hours online.

Because wellbeing isn’t just about doing more, it’s about creating space to do less.

Your nervous system listens to your feet.

Reflexology doesn’t just help you relax, it activates the body’s parasympathetic response, which helps calm the nervous system and reduce the effects of long-term stress.

Emerging research shows that gentle stimulation of specific points on the feet can support better circulation, lower heart rate, and improve mood regulation.

It’s the science of calm, through your soles.

I’m registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the UK regulator set up with government support to protect the public.

💡 Why this matters:
✔ Not everyone can be on the register. Practitioners must meet rigorous standards of training and practice to be accepted.

✔ The CNHC is recognised by the NHS and backed by the Department of Health, providing assurance to the public when choosing a practitioner.

⚠️ Choosing a practitioner who is not registered means there is no guarantee of their training being independently verified or that they are held to nationally recognised standards. This can put clients at risk of inconsistent or unregulated practice.

❤️ For my clients, CNHC registration means peace of mind that you’re booking with a reflexology practitioner who is professionally regulated, accountable, and committed to safe, high-quality care.

I’m proud to be a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), the UK’s largest professional body for reflexology practitioners.

💡 Why this matters:

✔ Membership isn’t automatic. Only practitioners who have trained to nationally recognised standards, follow a Code of Practice, and commit to ongoing professional development can join.

✔ It’s a recognised mark of professional excellence and accountability.

⚠️ Practitioners who are not members of a professional body may not have met the same training requirements, may not keep their skills up to date, and are not bound by a professional code of ethics. This can make it harder for clients to know what standards they are working to.

❤️ For my clients, AoR membership is reassurance that you’re choosing a practitioner who is fully trained, accountable, and working to the highest professional standards.

Reflexology is not a foot massage!

At East London Reflexology, I often hear people confuse reflexology with a regular foot massage.

While both involve the feet, reflexology is a stand-alone complementary therapy with its own techniques, purpose, and approach.

What makes reflexology different:

It works with specific reflex points on the feet (and sometimes hands).

Each session is planned and adapted to the client’s needs on the day.

The focus is on promoting deep relaxation and overall wellbeing, not just kneading sore muscles.

Reflexology is more than pampering. It’s a therapy in its own right.

Clients often say they leave feeling:

Relaxed and grounded
Balanced and recharged
Like they’ve had time just for themselves

Next time someone mentions “foot massage,” remember that reflexology is a unique therapy designed to support your wellbeing in its own way.

Why not try it for yourself?

✨ Did you know reflexology is being studied using fMRI brain scans?

Reflexology researchers Kevin & Barbara Kunz are working with neuroscientists to explore how stimulating reflex points on the feet may light up different areas of the brain.

Early findings suggest reflexology may activate more than just the foot’s sensory regions hinting at wider mind–body connections. 🌿

Research is still ongoing, but it’s exciting to see reflexology under the brain scanner! 🧠

Would you be curious to see what your brain looks like during reflexology?

A recent study by the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) has utilised cortisol testing to measure the physiological effects of reflexology on stress levels.

By analysing hair samples, researchers aim to track changes in cortisol levels over time and determine if reflexology has a measurable impact on stress reduction.

This research sheds light on the physiological changes that occur when reflexology is practised, helping to establish a clearer connection between the therapy and its potential health benefits.

Did you know reflexology is closely linked with proprioception in your body’s sense of where it is in space?

Your feet are packed with thousands of nerve endings. When gentle pressure is applied during reflexology, it stimulates these sensory receptors.

This sends signals through the nervous system, helping your brain register changes in pressure, position, and touch.

✨ The theory is that this sensory input supports relaxation, enhances body awareness, and may help the nervous system find balance.

Many people describe feeling grounded, lighter, and more in tune with their body after a reflexology session. 🌿
