🌺 We Will Remember Them 🌺

On Sunday morning, residents at Grappenhall Manor Care Centre came together to honour Remembrance Sunday.

A group of residents visited the local Legion to watch the parade set off, sharing stories and memories from their own lives and families. For those who stayed at home, we gathered in the lounge to watch the live service from the Cenotaph in London.

It was a truly special and meaningful morning — filled with reflection, pride, and remembrance. ❤️

🦎🕷🐍 Scaly Safari Visits Grappenhall Manor! 🐍🕷🦎

There were some very brave residents (and team members!) at Grappenhall Manor Care Centre this week as Scaly Safari brought along a fascinating range of exotic creatures — including snakes, lizards, and even a tarantula! 💚

Everyone had the chance to get up close, ask questions, and even hold some of the animals. There were plenty of smiles, a few nervous giggles, and lots of interesting facts shared throughout the visit.

A huge thank you to Scaly Safari for such a memorable and educational experience — it’s a day we certainly won’t forget! 🌟

This Wellbeing Wednesday, our theme — “Be You to the Full” — reminded us to celebrate everything that makes us unique and wonderful. 🌈✨

To bring this to life, we took inspiration from the much-loved story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛 — a beautiful reminder that from tiny beginnings, we all grow and transform in our own special way. 🦋💖

It was a day filled with colour, creativity, and self-love, as residents and staff came together to reflect, smile, and simply celebrate being ourselves. 💚

💕 Wear It Pink Day at Grappenhall Manor! 💕

Last week, our home turned pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness — and what a fantastic day it was! 💖🎀

A huge thank you to all our amazing staff and residents who joined in and wore something pink — from bright shirts to rosy accessories, the effort and enthusiasm were incredible. 🌸✨

We even enjoyed a special pink-themed bingo, with prizes to match the colour of the day! 💕

It was truly wonderful to see everyone come together for such an important cause, showing care, compassion, and community spirit throughout the home. 💗

🎉 We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new home, Upland Manor Care Home!

Our team has worked tirelessly to create a bespoke, purpose-built luxury care home, perfectly situated in the heart of Northern Moor.

Recently, some of our lovely residents from Ashlands Manor Care Centre — Gwen, Ann, and Joyce — had the opportunity to visit and gave Upland Manor Care Home their seal of approval:

“It’s absolutely gorgeous — there’s nothing I don’t like about it. I’d move in tomorrow if it weren’t for the fact I love my home and life at Ashland Manor!”

✨ Celebrating Diwali at Grappenhall Manor ✨

What an incredible time we had celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, here at Grappenhall Manor! 💫 We were treated to a stunning visit from a group of talented Bollywood dancers, who brought the spirit of Diwali to life with their colourful costumes, energetic routines, and beautiful music! 💃🕺

It was such a joy to watch our residents join in and learn a few Bollywood dance moves — smiles, laughter, and plenty of dancing feet all around! 🎶

A huge thank you to our wonderful guests for making this Diwali celebration one to remember. 🌟

🎶 Music that Moves the Heart 🎸

We were recently treated to a wonderful musical afternoon at Grappenhall Manor when Al brought the joy of live music right to our first floor, making sure that even those residents who spend a little more time in their rooms didn’t miss out! 🎵💛

Al’s guitar and sing-along favourites filled the air with smiles, laughter, and requests for special songs. The familiar tunes drifting through the corridors created a warm, uplifting atmosphere that touched everyone.

One of our residents said it perfectly: “It’s really made my day that he came to see me.” 🎶✨

These moments remind us just how powerful music can be — lifting spirits, sparking memories, and spreading joy throughout our home.

Growing up as one of six children shaped Margaret’s childhood through the challenges of wartime and rationing, with family always at the heart of it. Later in life, she discovered that one of her sisters wasn’t her biological sibling... A revelation that only deepened her understanding of family and the bonds that truly matter. ✨

Mamma Mia, here we go again! 🎶✨

We had a spectacular afternoon at Grappenhall Manor Care Centre in Warrington, as the incredibly talented Macy treated us to a lively ABBA tribute set!

The music had everyone moving — whether dancing in their seats or up on their feet, our residents were full of energy, joy, and unstoppable sing-alongs! 💛

From “Dancing Queen” to “Super Trouper,” the feel-good vibes were truly infectious. Thank you, Macy, for bringing so much happiness to our home — we can't wait to do it all again!

🏉 Warrington Wolves Foundation Visit at Grappenhall Manor Care Centre, Warrington 🏉

We had a fantastic afternoon with the Warrington Wolves Foundation and their brilliant group The Shed, who hosted a wonderful reminiscence session all about the Wolves! 💛💙

Our residents loved reminiscing about their favourite matches, exploring vintage memorabilia, and sharing memories of the team. A special highlight was welcoming former player Mike Nicholas, who brought the stories to life with his incredible experiences on the pitch. 🐺🏉
