Kind Hearts Kind Hands 💕🙌🏾

Feeling very proud (and a little bit emotional) this evening after taking our lovely team out for tea. It was so nice for everyone to sit together, chat, and share stories and memories about our clients — the moments that truly remind us why we do what we do 💕🙌🏾

When I look back over the last year and everything that’s developed, I honestly have to pinch myself. I’ve built my own business. I’ve got two incredible members of staff and a mini little apprentice, all doing a job that I absolutely love 💕💕💕💕🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

And I have to say — the team I have around me are simply amazing. These ladies go above and beyond every single day. Working late when needed, stepping in without hesitation, doing things that aren’t even technically within their job roles, and constantly pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. They show up with care, compassion and empathy at the heart of everything they do 💕🙌🏾

It honestly means so much to me to have staff who care the way they do. Thank you so much, ladies. I see the hard work, the emotional investment, the extra hours, and the love you pour into what we do. I couldn’t do this without you 💕🙌🏾

As I always say, it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows — hence the grey hairs, the bags under my eyes, the endless hours, paperwork and phone calls (and recently not even being able to call potential new clients back). Turning people away is something I never thought I’d have to do… but in its own way, that’s also a blessing. It means we’re trusted. It means we’re needed. Being the caring, empathetic person that I am has meant sleepless nights, working late, working weekends, and constantly going above and beyond. That’s the reality of running your own business. But hand on heart — the stress is 100% worth it 💕🙌🏾

Hearing lovely feedback from our clients is truly the icing on the cake. One of our clients daughters messaged me this week to say she’d been on holiday and when she returned to her parents’ home, it felt warm and happy. As a daughter, knowing she could go away and leave her parents in the capable hands of Kind Hearts 💕 Kind Hands 🙌🏾 meant the absolute world to her — and hearing that meant everything to me.

So here’s to the next year and whatever it brings 💕🙌🏾

The power of kind hearts kind hands really shines through in moments like this 💕🙌🏾

Intergenerational working is so important – the way Miley learns so much from our clients, and in return our clients gain so much from her company, kindness, and support. This was Mr K proudly showing Miley one of his contraptions, and of course she had to have a go herself. I absolutely loved watching the bond she has built with our clients – it’s genuine, natural, and a real reminder of why mixing generations matters so much 💕🙌🏾

Only joking — but once again our lovely Kate has gone above and beyond for our amazing clients 💕🙌🏾

When one of our clients, who lives with a physical disability, needed a bit of help and simply couldn’t do it themselves, Kate stepped in without hesitation. DIY and building might not officially be in our list of services… but when someone genuinely needs support, how can we say no?

Just to be clear — please don’t mistake us for a home improvement company 😆 this was very much a one-off! What it really shows is the heart of Kind Hearts 💕 Kind Hands 🙌🏾 caring, compassion and doing the right thing when it matters most.

✨ One Year Since Launching Kind 💕 Kind Hands 🙌🏾 ✨

A year ago, I took a very big (and very scary!) step and shared Kind Hearts 💕 Kind Hands with the world. I remember feeling so anxious about putting it out there on social media, not really knowing how it would be received… and then feeling completely overwhelmed (in the best way) by all the lovely comments, messages, shares and encouragement 💕🙌🏾

I also want to say a huge thank you to my amazing team. Without you, I genuinely couldn’t do this. Trusting others with something you’ve built from the ground up isn’t easy, and as many of you know, I was really worried about finding staff who shared the same values as me and would truly fit in with Kind Hearts 💕 Kind Hands I’m so proud to say that the team I have on board now prove every single day that they care just as much as I do — and that means the world to me 🙏🏾😭

I would also like to say a massive thank you to Diane Warburton from Community Catalyst for believing in me from the very beginning. Diane gave me the encouragement I needed to take that first step and was my mentor during those crucial early weeks of getting started. Her guidance, reassurance and belief in what I was trying to achieve meant more than she probably realises, and even now she is always there at the end of the phone whenever I need a bit of guidance or support. I am incredibly grateful for her ongoing encouragement and mentorship 🩷🙌🏾

It has truly been a whirlwind. And while social media often shows the positive moments, the reality is that it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. There are times when supporting our clients is really challenging, and there have been moments over the past year that have been genuinely heartbreaking to witness. But what gets us through those hard days is knowing that we are making a real difference — showing up, caring, and being there when it matters most 💕🙌🏾

While we won’t be fully celebrating one year in business until February – when I welcomed my very first client – I couldn’t let this moment pass without saying a huge thank you 🙏🏾💕🙌🏾

Kind Hearts Kind Hands came into my mum and dad’s lives when they were at their very lowest. As a daughter, I was frightened and didn’t know what was going to happen to them.

From the very beginning, Sam showed enormous care, sensitivity and professionalism, and she has completely turned all of our lives around. Nothing has ever been too much trouble — Sam has taken the time to build genuine, trusting relationships not only with Mum and Dad, but with our wider family too.

We were all so worried about “care packages”, but Sam and her team have tailored everything specifically to my parents’ needs. Because of this, I’ve been given something incredibly special — the chance to simply be a daughter again.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with our local MP, Charlotte Nichols, to talk about my new business venture, Kind Hearts Kind Hands 🙌🏾💕

I was also joined by some truly inspiring and powerful women — Diane from Community Catalysts, who supported and encouraged me to take the step to start this business, along with Jess from Bee Kind and Liz from Lilli Bet Sows 💕🙌🏾

We had an open and honest discussion about the growing need for services like ours in Warrington, particularly to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community and to help ease the increasing pressures on adult social care 💕🙌🏾

We spoke about the importance of quality support — ensuring people’s dignity is respected, visits are meaningful, and wellbeing is genuinely prioritised. Our clients often tell us how much they value seeing the same familiar face, something that is especially vital for those living with dementia or mental health challenges, where trust and consistency make such a difference 💕🙌🏾

We also discussed our pricing and why, with our qualifications and lived experience, the rates we charge reflect the quality and standard of care we provide. Quality care should always be valued 💕🙌🏾

Finally, we touched on the challenges small community businesses face with admin and financial support, including tax returns, and Charlotte has kindly offered to explore what support may be available 🙏🏾

A truly lovely afternoon spent with like-minded women who all share the same goal — to make a positive difference in our community 💕

Omelette-gate had a new contender this week … Miley, our youngest KHKH team member! 😂

For anyone who doesn’t know, omelette-gate is the long-running saga that Mr & Mrs K love an omelette — so much so that we were told a trophy might be in the running 🏆🍳

Miley’s been off school all week due to boiler issues and not that she’s complaining. Give her people and caring any day over sitting in a classroom learning things she’ll probably never use in adult life!

Coming to work with me, gaining real life skills, confidence and compassion, instead of algebra and French lessons, feels like the way forward.

Honestly, the whole schooling system could do with a massive shake-up. 🙏🏾💕🙌🏾

I’ve been seeing Sam for 9 months now and I just want to say how grateful I am. She’s always on time, always there for me, and she takes me to my appointments when I need to go.

When we go shopping, Sam always reminds me that it’s my choice, and she helps me put everything away when we get home. She helps keep my flat clean and tidy, and she even makes me the best coffee.

Most importantly, Sam is very kind and funny — we always have a laugh together. I’m really thankful for all her help and support.
