1 Day to go... Watch a Christmas film✨🎄✨
Hopefully by today you are ready for the big day tomorrow! Time to finish any last minute chores and then take time out to relax with a festive film. Turn this simple choice into a mindful moment as you cosy up on the sofa alone or with your family. Notice the story and how it affects your emotions, the happy and the sad. Bring your awareness to sensations in your body too. Do you tense up at exciting moments or get tears in your eyes at sentimental moments. Be mindful of the vast spectrum of human emotions and how changeable they are and how quickly we can move from one to another. Use this to pick a film to cheer yourself up and jolly the mood. 🎄✨

2 Days to go...Mindful Writing.🎄 Set aside 30 quiet minutes and write about Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas in the Future.

Write about Christmases you’ve experienced before. What did you love? What sights, sounds, smells, and traditions stand out? Notice any emotions that arise as you write.
Bring your awareness to this Christmas. How does it feel right now? What are you enjoying, what feels meaningful, and what do you need more or less of this season?

Finally, write about the Christmases you hope for. What experiences do you want? What emotions do you wish to feel? Let your imagination stay festive and kind.

There’s no right or wrong—just write freely, without judgment.
Mindful writing helps you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters at this time of year 🎄💛

3 Days to go...Wrap gifts Mindfully✨🎄
Whether you love or hate wrapping gifts, this year try slowing down and bringing some mindfulness to the moment. Enjoy focussing on the colours and texture of the paper, the shiny ribbons or sparkly tinsel touches. Listen to the snip of the scissors and the rip of the tape, folding and creasing the paper slowly and carefully. Think of the person you are giving the present to and take a moment to place your intention of love inside the wrapper too. When you're finished, place your hand on your heart, take a deep breath and feel gratitude for the abundance and generosity this Christmas . 💕🎄✨

4 Days to go....Give yourself a break✨
Although there's a lot to enjoy at Christmas, sometimes the constant Christmas tunes, the increase in social occasions, the extra jobs to do, can be overwhelming and we just need a break.
So press the pause button and treat yourself by doing something you love that isn't connected to the festivities. Perhaps its having a long bath with scented candles and relaxing music, or have a longer lie-in, go for a bike ride, do some crafting or go to the cinema. Let go of all the expectations and obligations and indulge yourself in self-care. Be mindful of the moment, noticing your emotions and possibly your heart rate slowing as you become calmer. Self-care is not a selfish act. It's an important part of healthy emotional well-being. 💕

5 Days to go....✨ Mindful FavoursThis Christmas ✨
Today, take a moment just for you and turn eating into a moment of calm and enjoyment. 🎄
Choose something festive, a piece of gingerbread, a cube of rich cheese, a mince pie, or something scented with cinnamon or cloves. Pop it on a pretty plate and sit at a table. Focus on the intention to enjoy eating as a pleasure, take a moment to notice the smell, the colours, any memories associated with this food.
As you take your first bite feel the texture. Notice how the flavours unfold — the warmth of spices, the sweetness, the savoury richness. Chew slowly, noticing the feel of the food in your mouth, instead of eating on autopilot. Breathe. There’s no rush. Each bite is an invitation to be present, to savour the moment.
This isn’t about restriction or perfection — it’s about pleasure, awareness in every mouthful and kindness to yourself. Mindful eating can bring a sense of grounding and gratitude during this festive season for the abundance of food we are lucky enough to enjoy!

✨ Take your time. Savour the flavours. Enjoy the moment. ✨

6 Days to go….Mindful Christmas Lights Stroll✨🌟✨.
Take a slow walk amongst the Christmas lights where you live or in a nearby park or city. Notice how the darkness sharpens your senses and let your eyes rest on the colours, shapes, glowing and twinkling. Notice the story each luminous scene portrays and how it affects your own memories of Christmas past. Focus on slowing down your walk and noticing your feet and the dark winter ground beneath. Feel grounded in this outdoor space and relax. All is well in this moment.

7 Days to go...Practice Mindful Waiting🎄💕 ✨
During the festive season, waiting is almost guaranteed — queues in the shops, traffic jams, a kettle boiling, or a screen loading. Instead of seeing these pauses as annoyances, try using them as small opportunities for mindfulness.

Next time you find yourself waiting, resist the urge to reach for your phone. Pause. Notice your breathing. Take in what’s around you — what can you see, hear, feel, or smell? Become aware of the people nearby, the background sounds and any physical sensations or emotions that arise.
By being fully present, even for a short moment, you may find a sense of calm and appreciation. There’s so much beauty and awe to appreciate in these mini-breaks life offers you 💛

8 Days to go...Mindful Aromas. 🎄✨
Take a quiet moment to focus on one scent around you—fresh pine needles, cinnamon, orange peel, mince pies, or a simmering pot on the stove.
Breathe it in slowly and fully. Notice how the smell affects your mind. Does it spark a memory? A feeling of comfort, joy, or nostalgia?
Our sense of smell is closely linked to the part of the brain that processes emotion and memory, which is why certain Christmas aromas can instantly calm us or bring us back to a cherished moment. As you focus solely on the scent, observe whether anxious thoughts drift away. If sad memories surface use tapping on acupressure points to soften the emotion. Just a few mindful breaths can ground you, reminding you that peace can be found in the simplest sensory moments. 💛

9 Days to go... Spend a Mindful Moment with a Friend. True friends are very valuable, always there when we need them and the person you can be yourself with, no filters. Yet at this time of year when we are busy with our to-do lists we may not find the energy to nurture our friendships. Friendship is a beautiful place to practice mindfulness. It’s in the moments when we truly listen, when we put our phones down and when we’re fully present with each other.
A mindful friendship isn’t about saying the perfect thing—it’s about showing up with attention, kindness, and an open heart. Create a space today to appreciate the friends who make you feel seen. A phone call to find out how they really are, or be spontaneous and pop in for a hug and a chat! Notice how giving time to your bestie can not only brighten their world, but warm your heart also. ✨

10 Days to go...Take a Mindful Moment with a hot Drink. Turn off your phone, and give yourself fully to this moment. Choose your favourite hot drink, perhaps even a mulled wine. As you make the drink, notice the sounds and sensations it creates. Breathe in the aromas, feel the movement of the spoon as you stir. When you are ready, pull up a comfy chair and wrap your hands around your mug. Focus on the warmth and the feelings or memories it brings to mind. Sip slowly and mindfully, enjoying the taste and the feeling as the liquid fills your mouth and warms your body. Take your time. Mindfully drinking helps you practice how to direct your attention to the present moment.☕️🫖🎄❤️

12 Days to go... Mindful Gratitude This Christmas 🎄
In the middle of the lights, lists, and last-minute plans, I invite you to pause. Tonight, take a quiet moment to practice mindful gratitude—just you, a pen, and a few honest reflections. Here are some prompts to get you started,

🎁 One small moment today that made you smile
❤️ One person you’re grateful for and why
🕯️ One challenge from today that taught you something
🌟 One simple comfort you often take for granted

If it feels good, make this a gentle nightly ritual throughout the season (and beyond). Each evening, write 3–5 things you’re grateful for—big or small. Over time, you’ll notice how your focus slowly shifts toward warmth, presence, and peace. This Christmas, let gratitude be the gift you give yourself. ✨
