I love getting out early on winter days like today. Clear skies, glittery pavements, frozen ground and a random shopping trolley on the lake 🤣

A walk around Stratford upon Avon today while waiting for my son to do his driving theory test. The wisteria on these cottages added a beautiful pop of colour 💜 on this grey and wet day.

My walking journey so far....

My new years resolution for 2019 was to walk 10,000 steps per day. It’s been an amazing journey and I’m now what you may call, addicted. Rain, hail and shine you can spot me walking around my local area of Warwick (England) listening to podcasts or music, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the scenery. I’ve also been known to drag out my very supportive husband in the evenings to ensure I hit my steps.

It’s amazing what you see when you walk rather than drive, around your local area! The urban landscape is a kaleidoscope of colour, sights and sounds, you just need to slow down to see them. You may notice I have a slight obsession with sunsets. What can I say, they’re beautiful!

I’ve also discovered the many health benefits of walking. Regular brisk walking can help with your weight and fitness. It can also help to reduce the risks of heart disease and stroke, as well as strengthen your bones and muscles. And as if that’s not enough, it’s also fantastic for your mental health!

In 2020 I’m upping my daily goal to 12,000 steps. Join me on my journey as I walk the everyday streets of Warwick, surrounding areas and occasionally a bit further afield.
