A Shout-Out to the Women Who Make This Work Possible

International Men’s Day is a chance to celebrate the men, dads, brothers, sons, and friends who make a difference but for me, it’s also about the women who make our work possible.

Fatherhood Solutions simply wouldn’t exist without the women who stand beside us, support us, challenge us, and believe in this mission as strongly as we do. Some have been here from the beginning, others have joined more recently all bringing strength, compassion, and purpose to the work we do with dads and families.

A special mention to my aunt, who has been like a mum to me my entire life. Her steady love and belief shaped the man and dad I am today.

And of course, Sarah my wife, my partner, and the driving force behind Fatherhood Solutions. Not in the background, but at the heart of everything. Her leadership and vision are the reason this organisation works the way it does.

We are better together.
Our work with dads is stronger, deeper, and more impactful because of the women who guide, support, and walk alongside us.

So today, on International Men’s Day, I want to honour the incredible women colleagues, partners, family, and friends who make real change possible.

Thank you for everything.

Today, on International Men’s Day, I want to take a moment to talk about some of the men in my life the ones who’ve shaped me, supported me, challenged me, and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with me on this journey.

In Fatherhood Solutions, I am surrounded by men who show, every single day, what positive masculinity actually looks like. Not the box we were told to squeeze ourselves into growing up but the real thing.

The kind built on vulnerability, compassion, coaching, caring, parenting, empathy, mentoring, relationship, and friendship.

Our Fatherhood Navigators are a perfect example of this.
They are ordinary men doing extraordinary things supporting other dads through tough moments, sharing lived experience, giving their time, and offering a safe space for men to talk without judgement. They show that strength isn’t pretending you are fine. Strength is turning up for someone else even when you’re struggling yourself.

People talk a lot about “role modelling”…

But what is it really?

To me, role modelling is the quiet stuff:
It’s how you speak to people.
It’s how you handle pressure.
It’s showing up for your kids even when you’re tired.
It’s the way you treat your partner.
It’s how you own your mistakes and how you put things right.
It’s being able to say, “I don’t know, but I’m learning.”

That’s what men need.
That’s what boys need to see.
And that’s the standard these men set every day.

I am incredibly fortunate to have these men in my life not just as colleagues or volunteers, but as friends and brothers. Their influence doesn’t just impact me; it shapes the dads they support, the families who rely on them, and the wider culture we’re trying to shift.

International Men’s Day isn’t about ego or celebration for the sake of it.
It’s about recognising the good men out there the ones trying, learning, loving, and making change in their own communities.

To every man who’s part of Fatherhood Solutions, and to the men who have helped shape me into who I am today thank you. I am proud to walk alongside you.

Let’s keep showing the world what healthy, real, honest masculinity looks like.

Cameron’s Mo-Mission

This International Men’s Day, we’re shining a light on one of our own Cameron from the Fatherhood Solutions team who’s taken a bold step to kick off Movember by shaving off his beard and starting fresh with a brand-new moustache.

Anyone who knows Cam knows that beard has been part of his identity for years… so this isn’t just a trim. It’s a statement.

A statement about men’s mental health.
A statement about vulnerability.
A statement about showing up for other men, even when it means stepping outside your comfort zone.

Movember is about more than facial hair it’s about conversations, awareness, and support. And that’s exactly what Cameron represents within Fatherhood Solutions. He is part of the team that stands beside dads, supports their wellbeing, and helps create spaces where men feel safe to talk, open up, and ask for help.

Seeing him take part in Movember is a reminder that positive masculinity isn’t loud or flashy it’s everyday actions, small changes, and meaningful gestures that spark conversations and build connection.

We are proud of you, Cam.

The moustache is just the beginning the message behind it is what really matters.

Last night was one of those moments that stays with you.

When I first got involved in , it was behind the scenes shaping the story, supporting the script, and making sure the real experiences of new dads were heard. Then came the on-set days as technical advisor, focusing on honesty, accuracy, and truth over stereotype.

But seeing it all on the big screen… nothing prepares you for that.

A room full of people from film, arts, maternity, mental health, parenting, lived experience all connecting on a conversation that’s been overlooked for far too long: paternal mental health.

The reality is simple:
New fathers struggle.
Many feel isolated.
Many don’t know where they fit.
And too many fall apart quietly while trying to hold everything together.

puts that truth right in front of you the fear, the pressure, the silence, but also the hope underneath it all.
Hearing the room shift last night… the emotion, the conversations afterwards… that’s impact.

I am proud to have played a part in bringing this story to life not as a filmmaker, but as a dad, an advocate, and someone who knows what it feels like to search for calm while everything changes. Sharing it with my sons made it even more special.

Huge thank you to the incredible cast, crew, partners, my wife who worked tirelessly to make the night happen, and to every dad who has ever struggled in silence this one’s for you.

Last night reminded me why this work matters.
Why visibility matters.
And why these conversations need to reach new spaces.

When film and fatherhood meet, something meaningful happens.

We’re delighted to share that the Military Families 1001 Critical Days Survey is now live! 💜

Developed in partnership between Fatherhood Solutions , Dandelion Military Families, and Coventry & Warwickshire Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership , this survey invites military parents and partners to share their experiences and tell us what support is most needed during the first 1001 days - from pregnancy to age two. Insights will inform a joint report shared with MNVPs and strategic partners, helping to influence how services support military families during this vital time.

For a reminder of who can take part, please swipe to the second tile.

Dads Connect Zoom Calls

Join us on the last Thursday of every month at 8pm for a relaxed, open conversation with other Coventry dads.

We cover everything from the serious to the lighthearted, night-time routines, relationship shifts, making the most of limited time with your child, school readiness, work-life balance, and what masculinity means today. But we also dive into the fun stuff guilty-pleasure music, best takeaways, and even “if you had a superpower, what would it be?”

It’s a safe space to share, listen, laugh, and connect.

Come join us next time you’ll be glad you did.
