How is it September already?! 😰🍂

We have had a lovely summer, but the hard ground is really catching up with lots of horses.
If you’re looking for a treatment in the next few weeks I have these days available.

I know some of you enjoy an update on Jim (my own horse) and I’m often asked how he’s getting on whilst I’m treating your lovely horses.

He’s sadly been on box rest following an acute soft tissue injury in his lower leg. This has involved both his suspensory ligament causing an avulsion fracture, and also his oblique sesamoidean ligament . 7 weeks of box rest down and potentially another 9 to go! (Photo 2 is him enjoying some peanut butter and banana on his lick mat… thank god he loves food like his owner!!🤣🐷)

I’ve had wonderful service from who have been overseeing his plan for a return to some level of normality and today we had our first 10 minute ride. As you can see he was his usual chilled self and glad to be out! 😇 😎

As with many equine injuries it’s a long road and involves a detailed rehab plan delivered as a team effort! He will be having treatments from me to address some compensatory issues from his reduced mobility and some referral pain brought about by the injury. The vets will see him again in 2 weeks to administer PRP and then we will decide if he needs anything else adding in!

Further down the line we will need to also work with my farrier and saddle fitter to ensure a fully holistic approach and give him the best chance of returning to full work 🤞🏼🐴

I’ve a couple of May dates left and June’s appointments are filling up so please get in touch for:
🐴 Routine maintenance treatments
🐴 Referrals from your vet for specific concerns
🐴 Mid-season tune ups (especially needed after this hard ground!)
🐴 Rehab for those coming back after an injury
🐴 Young horses just starting ridden work
🐴 A treatment alongside a swim at
