Finally got some time to post some stuff!

Proud moment today/just now…

Got a big harvest of homegrown cucumbers (that was a proud moment too!) and I’ve learned to pickle the cucumbers and just did it now!

The seals on the jar have clicked close, so I think I did it properly!

Did a garlic / long sliced, with pepper corn and chill garlic flakes.

Did a red onion / cucumber slices / chili onion flakes

Then a few just with red onion and cucumber 🥒

2 weeks…. Until I can try them…

And if I forget them for months it’s ok cos I’ve sealed them 💪

The local markets can be far superior and cheaper than your supermarket just take a 👀

Knowledge + Consistent Action = Results

We've all been there, we know what is healthy and good for us but we may only stick to the healthy habits in waves and phases before stopping them and reverting back into our old habits.

By sticking to manageable and realistic daily actions, practicing these overtime you will learn new skills which will help you achieve your goals.

As lockdown restrictions are slowly lifted consider some of the challenges that might get in the way for your health and fitness goals, as bbq season is around the corner and more and more socialising and drinking will likely take place.

No pub for me just yet, as there will be plenty more opportunities (maybe even this week!)

Start with the foundations of good movement, exercise, and eating whole foods and soon we can get our bodies in shape out of lockdown ready for the summer sunshine ☀️ 🍉🍓🥝

Home made Seitan!

I’ve been experimenting with high protein plant based options, and this was surprisingly easy to make, and really is a good chicken alternative, although you can replicate any meat!

Pictures show:
Step 1 - knead 1.5 cups of vital wheat gluten with 1 cup water (I doubled this)
Step 2 - flatten and chop into nugget shapes
Step 3 - simmer for 40mins
Step 4 - you can eat plain, but I suggest cooling to change texture and then figuring out what you want to do with it
Step 5 - I decided to add seasoning, fry, and enjoy!

Quick tip on exercising if you're busy... Choose good exercises!

You can do this by choosing compound moves, or like in this video a hybrid exercise that combines two or more exercises (The exercise I did was press up, burpee and pull up) and it can be great to work your muscles as well as your cv system, to help you rev up your metabolism! I did 10 sets of 10 of these today, I won't lie - pretty tough and it took me 30mins.

Choose any two exercises you are comfortable with, and try combining them!

For example: Squat and shoulder press, Lunge into bicep curl, Press up into 2 sec plank hold..... The list is endless!

Do 3-4 sets of your chosen exercise and that's already a quick mini workout complete!

As the exercise will target the whole body more, you can get a good workout in fewer sets (and time!) than normal.

For a full workout 30mins-60mins, once you have completed a few full body/hybrid moves, you can move onto normal exercises that target one muscle group at a time, then move onto smaller muscles like arms and abs.
