Cold foods can feel harsh on winter digestion and hormones. Especially for breakfast, the first meal of the day.

💛 Today, choose something warm:

✨ Porridge with cinnamon
✨ Stewed apples
✨ Warm chia bowl
✨ Toast with nut butter

Nourish yourself gently.

Tell me: are you a sweet or savoury breakfast person?

This time of year can be a lot to deal with.

Shops are busy, car parks are tight, workloads keep stacking up, and there’s always one more thing tugging at your attention.

Next week in yoga, we’ll be practising how to find space and stillness inside all of that.
Not by escaping the world, but by meeting it differently — with softer edges and steadier breath.

Gentle, grounding movement.
Moments of pause.
A chance to let the nervous system settle even while life stays busy.

If you’re feeling stretched thin, come and rest with us.
The mat is a small, quiet space — and sometimes that’s enough.

Welcome to day 5 of our Advent of Self-Care.

Before bed tonight, soften the world around you.

Try one or more:

🕯 switch off screens
🛁 warm bath or shower
🧦 cosy socks
🌙 breathe slowly into your belly
🧘‍♀️ enjoy some bedtime yoga
(I have a video you can follow along with https://youtu.be/OciVbcSzJjk)

Santosha invites us to rest in the enoughness of this moment. We don’t need to wait for life to be perfect before we soften. Like a still lake, we can meet both ease and difficulty with steadiness and presence. Contentment isn’t something to chase — it’s something we return to, breath by bre...

Welcome to day 4 of our Advent of Self-Care.

It is so important that you know this on a deep level - you do not have to earn rest. Let me repeat that. You do not have to earn rest.

Your worth isn’t measured by productivity.

Our immune system strengthens when we rest, it is a biological truth, echoing the yogic wisdom that healing happens in stillness, not striving.

Rest is sacred.
Rest is healing.
Rest is allowed.

I love this book by Octavia F. Raheem. It is presented in such a unique way, almost like sutras. Definitely one for the Christmas list. See you tomorrow!

Welcome to day 3 of our Advent of Self-Care.

So many of us carry emotional weight in our neck and shoulders — tension, responsibility, unspoken feelings.

Today, take 5 minutes to:

✓ Roll your shoulders slowly
✓ Stretch your neck gently
✓ Breathe space into places that feel tight

With every exhale, let something soften — a worry, a task, a memory, a weight you don’t need to carry alone.

This simple practice is an expression of Ahimsa — the yogic principle of non-harm.
Ahimsa invites tenderness.

It asks us to meet ourselves with gentleness rather than pressure or expectation.
To treat the body not as a machine to manage, but as a living home deserving of comfort, patience, and compassion.

Soften the jaw.
Unfurl the brow.
Let the shoulders melt away from the ears.

You don’t need to do more right now.
Just breathe.
Just be here.

Five minutes.
Five breaths.
Five moments of remembering your own softness.

You are worthy of ease.

I received this lovely card last night, and it has really made my whole week! The heartfelt words within are a beautiful reminder of the impact yoga can have on all of our lives, well beyond the time we spend together on the mat. I am so grateful for the people who show up and make this work feel worthwhile. The connections I get to make as a yoga teacher are something I never take for granted. 🥰
