STRUGGLING WITH AN INJURY - HYPNOTHERAPY CAN HELP!!

This blog is inspired by a lovely man I met at a local cafe who is valiantly battling through a significant injury.

Coping with injuries that incapacitate you for weeks, months or more can be a physical and psychological rollercoaster. There is no area of your life that is unaffected by injuries that impede your mobility.

Coping with pain is often at the forefront of the challenge. We all know that there is a psychological element to pain, be that in the fear or anticipation of it, or being unable to focus on anything else if you are in pain. Science has established that fear and tension actually increase the amount of pain we feel. Hypnotherapy helps with management of fear and anxiety and in developing coping mechanisms.

An unintended consequence of your medical treatment can be addiction to the painkillers prescribed to help you. This can impede your recovery because it is one more thing to get over on top of the injury. All addiction comes with a sense of shame, which of course is misplaced. Hypnotherapy can help deal with the primary addiction, the complex feelings that accompany it and in challenging unhelpful feelings around shame.

“You are not the voice in your head”. What I hear you say. If I am not who is? You are the controller of the voice. Most fear messages are sent by the ancient part of our brains in response to a perceived threat. Back in the day this would have been a dangerous animal or an enemy. Today it is more about psychological threat ie in our dealings with other humans. We call it worry or stress when these messages become overwhelming and trouble our waking and sleeping hours.

Welcome to my page. I am a hypnotherapist and qualified midwife offering face to face therapy on the Wirral and online nationally via Zoom.

A facilitator by nature I love helping clients understand thoughts beliefs and behaviours that may no longer serve them and embarking on the therapy journey into change.

I am passionate about helping clients understand all of the change is brought about by them and the power of their subconscious mind.

This knowledge gives them a toolkit of resilience and therapeutic skills to take with them when therapy ends.

Hypnotherapy can help with many issues such as Phobias, behaviour change (managing your drinking) , compulsions and anxiety to name but a few.

It does this by making you so deeply relaxed that the higher thinking part of your brain (that often sabotages your wish to change) is bypassed and agreed suggestions speak to your subconscious mind which goes about bringing your new wishes into reality.

Hypnotherapy is backed by science and evidence based research but is also a magical process.

We can work together on Zoom or in person at Hoylake Therapy Rooms

I charge £65 per session and £80 for couples coming for hypnobirthing.
