Life has really been keeping me on my toes lately—so much happening all at once! You might’ve noticed I haven’t been as active on here recently, but I promise I’ve got lots to share with you. 💬

I’m planning a video soon to go a bit deeper and give you a proper behind-the-scenes update on everything that’s been going on. But for now, I wanted to share this incredible ‘king’ of the bug world—a true marvel that never fails to captivate me.

And this year’s bluebells? Absolutely breathtaking. I took the time to really soak in their colours and textures, and it was so rewarding to slow down and be present in the beauty of the season. Sometimes, it’s the little moments that mean the most. 💜

Happy bluebells popping out beautifully in the evening light. I was lucky enough to capture these wonderful flowers as they came into bloom in the garden, their violet petals vibrant against the garden green.

Have you enjoyed the burst of Spring? 🪻

A ladybird pauses on a leaf—a childhood friend in a tiny suit of armor.

Spots visible like painted stories. Delicate wings glisten in the morning light. Antennae twitch, sensing a whole world within the grass.

Eyes scan the familiar garden. Tiny marvels hide in plain sight, waiting for a second glance. Let your next walk recall the old thrill of small discoveries... 🐞

Bluebells—captured in black and white—hold a quiet grace, their petals and leaves sketched in gentle contrast.

Textures take center stage, with every curve and shadow inviting a closer gaze at nature’s careful handiwork.

Which black and white shot resonates with you...? 🐦‍⬛

I am absolutely thrilled to have received a replacement 100mm 2.8 Macro lens, generously sent over by . As someone who relies on quality gear for my photography, I was eager to put this new affordable lens to the test. But the real question is, how does it stack up against my trusty Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro lens that I’ve loved for so long? Let me dive right in and share my experience with you all.

Well, after spending some time shooting with both lenses, the results are finally in…

Breathtaking! The detail, sharpness, and color rendition from the Ttartisan lens truly exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to share more photos from this lens. Check out my latest YouTube video for the full details...🪻

Violets in the sun, these little flowers popped their heads up in the garden first. They were the first sign of new beginnings.

A fresh start to the year 🪻✨️

Their soft colours and delicate flower were a delight to work with! Using a Canon 100mm Macro Lens I set about creating photographs with a different style. Something painterly and intimate.

I love the delicate interaction between this early dog violet and the leaves of the plant surrounding it. I have really enjoyed slowing down, seeing spring come through and creating painterly photographs that resonate with me.

Peeping through the dead leaves, Springs is beginning to speak. Her song a synthamy of bird chatter and busy bees. I love this time of year, this is the time for renewal and growth. I have some budding Blubells in the garden and I can't wait to capture them! 🪻

It's beautiful looking at the intricate details of nature, which are right under my nose. Garden photography is a game changer. What inspired me to shoot my garden? To be honest, I have no idea. When I saw the snow drops slowly dying off, I thought to myself, "Oh no, I have to capture them." Even if it was from my garden, it doesn't really matter where you shoot. It's what you create and the message it shares.

Did you know Ivy contains soap? I really enjoyed capturing the wonderful ivy that's growing in my garden using a 100mm Camon Macro lens. It's amazing what you can find locally. There are textures, details, colours...right on your doorstep. Sometimes you don't have to venture very far to find the beauty in nature.

I loved experimenting with the macro lens and some icm photography, it's always good to try new approaches to your work.

If you re interested to see how I made detergent using ivy leaves, then check out my latest is YouTube video!
