Why gentle touch can help with sleep 🌙
Many of us carry tension in our bodies long after the day has ended. Busy thoughts, tight shoulders, and a nervous system that hasn’t quite switched off yet.
Gentle, soothing touch can help signal to the body that it’s safe to relax.
Slow, light touch has been shown to activate calming nerve fibres in the skin, helping the nervous system shift out of “busy mode” and into a more restful state. Breathing deepens, muscles soften, and the mind often begins to quiet.
It’s not unusual for people to feel deeply relaxed during a session — sometimes even drifting into that peaceful space between waking and sleep.
A little reminder that rest is something we’re allowed to receive. 💚
