I strongly believe that mental and physical fitness go hand in hand. To me this balance is fundamental for my health and wellbeing as well as being there and showing up for those that are important to me. Almost 8 years ago I was on the edge of taking my own life. It was a cry for help. I had a stark realization that the only person who could really save me, was me. That's not to say that there is

n't support & help out there, I took it step by step, first by being vulnerable & letting down the mask, then taking action towards change...

Now with 6 years+ experience working with thousands of people to facilitate, help, support and guide them to a healthier, happier life. Qualifications I hold include:

Advanced MI (Motivational Interviewing) practitioner
Certificated CBT trained
Level 4 Nutrition Diploma
Fully trained in Mental Health First Aid and First Aid
Sports Therapy diploma

Behind every great man is a great woman.

For me this couldn’t be truer.

Saying I’m a great man sparks discomfort of sorts. Acknowledgment that I am feels like the ego is boasting. And yet I’m leaning to accept that I am. I actually believe everyone is great. Straight up, deep down everyone just wants to love & be loved. And what’s greater than that.

Anyway, back to the point of this reflection, taking a breath on my 45th Birthday run earlier this month, I want to acknowledge my Mrs.

Change is f*cking daunting. I’ve made a BIG one recently.

As humans our instincts are going to want safety first. And yet I believe this is holding people back from their true potential.

I also appreciate that circumstances, experiences, responsibilities can influence our decisions.

However in my opinion we all need to take more risks.

This past decade have taught me so much, it’s giving me a tone or learnings. Now it’s time to reinvest this & continue to grow what I believe is my purpose & mission.

Bring on the second half mate 😉❤️👊

We ALL deserve a release at the end of a week. Everyone looks forward to downing tools on a Friday right?

Typically we might of gone to the boozer, clubbing, get pi**ed, grab a bag…as we get older we start to feel it more, in our head & see it in our body.

We then perhaps just sit on the sofa & have a beer, eat too much s**t.

What if there was another option to reward ourselves. Something that gives us a decent dosage of adrenaline & dopamine. Something where we can escape, decompress, somewhere to socialise without chewing someone’s ear off. And trust in the knowledge that it’ll physically & mentally benefited us.

VS LIFE contrast sessions happen twice a month on a Friday evening - we have opportunities from April to give this a pop.

What’s involved in the 90min session?

We all get overwhelmed right, we all need an outlet to release it. What do you do when you feel this way?

And we all want to stay healthy & fit, physically & mentally, right?

Very much in two minds with posting this. I know my intentions are from love and so I listened to that.

The other week I spent an evening with a large room of Dads & Lads who all chose to be there. Every one of these men seriously pushing the comfort to listen & learn about the biggest killer of our age group.

Honestly, I was worried that attending might be triggering. A decade ago I was experiencing severe suicidal thoughts which took me to the very edge. Everyone knows someone that has ended their own lives. It’s devastating.

delivered a super impactful & useful workshop. An opportunity to flex the listening reflex which by default for us men isn’t natural - we want to fix, find solutions & just crack on with s***
(I’ve shared the listening wheel, something they use & we got to practice).

The recent campaign by provides a perspective that so many of us men can relate to. It’s proper f****** powerful (I’ve taken a clip here but search for it & watch it all).

I’m proud to be part of this inspiring community & my hope is that many other men’s communities follow suit.

I’m loving what I’m creating with VS LIFE. This doesn’t mean it’s not hard bloody work.

I truly believe in order to show up you have to embody it fully. Which is also bloody tiring. And yet the wonderful fact is it actually helps. Not just for the Dads & Lads that get involved but for me too.

Honestly, it’s like a fu***ng magic mix which always leaves me better off than before doing it.
