We’ve got every reason for a at Care First 24 – we are finalists in - Team Support Expertise (wellbeing) and Training & Staff Development Expertise - Home Care Awards taking place on the 6th March 2026 at the National Conference Centre, Solihull.

We have a four-strong team representing Care First 24 – Gerry, Bradley, Isaac and Dulcie – and we’re sure they will have a great day celebrating all that is good in Social Care with all the other finalists and guests.

🩵 At the heart of what we do is understanding that care doesn’t stop with the individual. Families give so much of themselves every single day, and occasionally they need and deserve a well-earned break too.

Recently, we were proud to support a family so they could take some precious time away together, knowing their loved one was safe, comfortable. The family had a wonderful trip, and even took the time to get in touch with an update, which truly made our day. 💫

- Two years ago Debbie joined Care First 24 as a Care Delivery Resourcer, playing a key role in supporting a team of consultants. Moving from a highly competitive face to face and telephone sales background, this position was a natural fit for Debbie.

Care First 24 offers many opportunities for career development and recognises exceptional talent. Therefore with Debbie’s loyalty to her role, and her ‘can do attitude’ she quickly became a valuable member of the team. Debbie continued to support the sales team, demonstrating her flexibility, and quickly progressed into her new role as Care Coordinator, where she has full responsibility for managing her own packages of care.

Here’s one way of beating the winter – a weekly update on Karen Fitzpatrick, Director of Clinical Education at Amethyst Education - who runs our Clinical training here at Care First 24 - an update on her fantastic challenge on behalf of the Epilepsy Society 100 mile cycle challenge.

Here is what Karen had to say 👇

“Thought I'd give you a weekly update on the miles I have covered. This week all my miles have been out in nature or on the road. Some have been wonderful and are having a positive impact on how I feel in my physical health. I feel like I'm rolling back the years and gaining more donations as I peddle along. The longest journey was 16 miles I did today around Norwich. I'm at 81 miles now, on the home run. Thank you for your ongoing support.”

Our lovely trainer, Karen Fitpatrick, Amethyst Clinical Education, made a sterling effort and hit her 30-mile target today, towards her Epilepsy Society’s Challenge 100 - which is a virtual challenge where participants must complete 100 miles in less than 100 days. 💜💜

This challenge encourages individuals to complete the miles in various ways and Karen has chosen cycling to complete the 100 miles. Here she is making a gallant effort this morning - reaching her 30-mile target. Well done Karen! 👏

There are 1 in 100 people living with Epilepsy in the UK, and Care First 24 is delighted to make a donation in support of Karen and have no doubt that Karen will hit her 100 mile challenge.
