A proud moment for all of us at Wellford Gardens today! Our Night Care Leader, Binoy, was on the panel today at University of Oxford’s AI and Social Care Summit, a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of his hard work and expertise.
Binoy leads on acoustic monitoring within our home, a key feature of the high-quality care we provide. He has been at the forefront of developing and embedding this technology since we first opened, and it’s incredible to see his work now being shared more widely. Even more exciting, Binoy is now linking directly with The Care Workers' Charity to collaborate and discuss this important topic with others across the sector.
For those interested, acoustic monitoring is a system that uses sound to alert a central hub when something is happening in a resident’s environment. It has become an essential, non-intrusive way to support people living in care settings.
By identifying movement or unusual sounds, it allows caregivers to respond quickly — for example, if a resident is attempting or struggling to get out of bed — helping to prevent potential accidents. At the same time, it reduces the need for regular intrusive night-time checks, meaning residents can enjoy more restful sleep and wake up feeling content and refreshed.
We couldn’t be prouder of Binoy and the difference he continues to make. 👏
Karolina and members of our advisory board and champions project are pleased to be attending the AI and Social Care Summit 2026 today at the University of Oxford 👏
Bringing together experts from across social care, academia, and policy, the summit focuses on how AI can support and shape the future of care, while identifying key challenges, gaps, and best practices.
We’re looking forward to a day of insightful discussions, collaboration, and innovation in this important space.
