More amazing work carried out by the healing hands foundation at dōTERRA
According to the United Nations, access to education is one of the best ways to break poverty cycles. That’s why the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation regularly funds education initiatives.
We’ve recently supported scholarships in doTERRA sourcing communities in Haiti and Nepal. These scholarships help families bridge the costs of education, empowering children to pursue opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
One recipient of a doTERRA Healing Hands scholarship in Nepal was 7-year-old Shanti. From one of the most economically disadvantaged communities in Rautahat District, Shanti comes from a joint family of 12. Her father works as a manual laborer in the Middle East, and her mother works odd jobs—including helping at a local turmeric plantation to support their family.
Shanti attends the local government school because it's more affordable, but the cost of essential school supplies was still a burden for her family. Now with a scholarship, she can purchase school supplies. This alleviates some of her family’s financial strain and enables her to continue pursuing an education.
