Today we said goodbye to Philip. The service was lovely and fitting for a quiet man who lead a humble life. I hope you are now at rest and that you have finally “Gone Home to your Maker” I know you will be entertaining everyone up there with your keyboard skills. I would like to thank R Banks & Son funeral service and for their empathy given to me yesterday at their Pemberton Office. Goodnight and god bless. We all raised a glass to you today Philip and will do the same at our Christmas Meal. At 48 you left early but you won’t be forgotten, sleep well.

Morning followers and Happy Friday. To uplift you all, it’s a very good morning from woman’s best friend my fury pooch. He brightens my darkest days and hopefully he will brighten up yours on this dreary morning.

I find pets are invaluable in providing a service to us they don’t even realize they provide!!! Dogs in particular pick up on your mood and instinctively know when to provide comfort. It’s quite extraordinary really and so much appreciated, they really are life savers. So drop a comment with a picture of your fury friend. Then tell us all how they help you to cope when you feel the world is against you. Love to you all 🩷❤️💜💙🧡💛

It’s been a tough emotional couple of weeks at Cancer Care. We lost a member of our group last week and it has affected us all, which is one of the reasons I haven’t posted much. Today in memory of our dear friend Philip we left his chair vacant but with a cup of his favourite coffee on the table. We may have lost him but I would like to think his spirit was with us this morning. As a group we said a prayer and discussed our thoughts & feelings moving forward without him.

It’s at times like this that we have to pull together and look out for each other. My video today is all about caring and being someone’s Good Samaritan. Life is short so show empathy to others because sometimes that’s all we need.

This is why I set up my own cancer group. The healing is slow because there is no hand holding anymore when the treatment ends. I personally felt like patients had been abandoned, especially at the time of the pandemic.

You will never be the same person after cancer but you definitely will be stronger. Best of all you will appreciate the small things in life that you took for granted before.

Love to you all ❤️

"The hardest part comes after."
— Princess Kate of Wales

In her quiet yet powerful words, Princess Kate once opened up about something many don’t talk about:
“You put on a brave face during treatment, but the real struggle begins after.”

She was speaking about her experience with chemotherapy—a journey that doesn’t end when the last session does.

Because once the treatments stop…
The world expects you to bounce back.
To smile.
To “go back to normal.”
But the truth is, that “normal” no longer exists.

What follows is a deep emotional rollercoaster:
The medical team is no longer by your side every day.
The adrenaline of survival fades.
The exhaustion lingers.
And you’re left navigating a new version of yourself—physically, emotionally, mentally.

“It’s a much harder process than I ever imagined,” she said.

This isn’t just a story of resilience.
It’s a reminder: healing takes time.
Not just the body—but the soul.
So if you—or someone you love—is in that space after the storm, don’t rush the calm.
Let it come, slowly. Gently. With grace.

And above all, don’t expect to be who you were before.
You’re becoming someone even stronger.

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather, I know I am. On Thursday at KCC we celebrated the Birthday of my first ever member Clare and because my Birthday followed the day after we had double the fun. It’s quite extraordinary the people you meet along the cancer journey who become your close friends. I always say a thank you to cancer (weird I know) because if I had not had this horrible life changing disease I would never have met them. Cancer people are my kind of people, we know we are made of strong stuff and that’s what gets us through our darkest days.

So please look out for my video which I will be uploading soon, it’s all about age and what it means to us all. It’s also about connecting with people and the value of life.

So on a positive note Seize The Day and have a wonderful weekend.
