This article is so very true. It’s ironic this should come up on my feed today. I’m glad to say I can spot the emotionally scarred people, I’ve two lovely people like this I met on my visits. They smile and look like they are coping and it’s only after a couple of visits in that I then start to look more closely and see the signs. They say that eyes are the windows to the soul and they really are. If you study what you can see before you hard enough it’s all there and at that point I use my famous phrase of “ok we are getting to know one another and your beautiful eyes are telling me another story. So drop the guard and tell me here and now what’s going on and I will do my best to understand and help you”.

Both these people survived and are still seeing me once a month. There’s no fake smile anymore because they feel comfortable to open up to me and tell me what’s going on.

Depression is a powerful mechanism that makes you feel so worthless, you don’t know who to trust or turn to anymore. However you smile, act normal and people think you’re ok. The etiology of depression burns deep, know the signs.

This is what depression looks like...
It’s so hard to tell the signs when someone is struggling. You can look happy but be broken inside. 💔

A bit of self love is sometimes all you need. Never feel guilty of taking time out for you.
Enjoy your day and keep spreading the ❤️

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about having a boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse.⁣
It doesn’t have to be a day to remind you of what you don’t have.⁣

It’s a day dedicated to love—⁣
and you can 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 what that means to you.⁣

Choose to celebrate the love you have for your body.⁣
Treat it right.⁣
Reflect on your relationship with it.⁣
Appreciate what it does for you.⁣

Maybe you just welcomed a beautiful baby into this world.⁣
Maybe it helped you run a marathon.⁣

So, say “I love you” to your body—⁣
for all the wonderful gifts it has given you.⁣

Choose to celebrate the love you have for the person you’ve become.⁣
Treat her right.⁣
Reflect on your relationship with her.⁣
Appreciate what you have.⁣

Maybe you have 100 days of sobriety.⁣
Maybe you have a job promotion in the works.⁣
Maybe you’re getting the hang of this whole mom thing.⁣

So, say “I love you” to the person you’ve become.⁣
This person is still a work in progress—⁣
but be proud of her.⁣

Love should never be polarizing.⁣

Celebrate all kinds of love—⁣
because they’re all a lot of work but incredibly worth it.⁣

But don’t forget about self-love,⁣
the most important kind to show ourselves 𝘢𝘯𝘥 our children. ⁣

'Despite being approved in Scotland – and 25 countries in Europe – women like me in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have been denied access to treatment that could extend our lives. It’s utterly devastating'

Today we said goodbye to Philip. The service was lovely and fitting for a quiet man who lead a humble life. I hope you are now at rest and that you have finally “Gone Home to your Maker” I know you will be entertaining everyone up there with your keyboard skills. I would like to thank R Banks & Son funeral service and for their empathy given to me yesterday at their Pemberton Office. Goodnight and god bless. We all raised a glass to you today Philip and will do the same at our Christmas Meal. At 48 you left early but you won’t be forgotten, sleep well.
