Rowan Tree Planting🌳

As part of Sustainability Week, we came together to plant a beautiful Rowan tree in our garden — a truly special moment for everyone involved.

The Rowan tree holds a particularly meaningful place in our hearts. Not only does it share its name with our home, but it is also known as the “Tree of Life,” symbolising protection, strength, wisdom, and new beginnings. Traditionally planted near homes for good fortune, as has long been regarded as a sacred and protective tree.

What a perfect reflection of the warmth, resilience, and community spirit we see here every day☺️

This Rowan tree will stand as a lasting symbol of our commitment to sustainability, nurturing nature, and celebrating the roots that connect us all.

Valentine Day Party❤️

Love was truly in the air this Valentine’s Day last weekend, as we came together as one big family to celebrate!

Our home was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of smiling faces as everyone enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of entertainment.
A huge thank you to Becky B Music for her fantastic performance and for keeping us all singing along and thoroughly entertained.

What a beautiful way to spend a day dedicated to love, friendship, and togetherness💖

After a busy day around the home, the people of the home enjoyed sitting down together to celebrate with some delicious pancakes!

Valentines Crafting❤️

Love is in the air at The Rowans! The people of the home have been getting creative with beautiful heart-themed crafts as we prepare for the big day.

From colourful decorations to handmade keepsakes, every piece has been made with care and plenty of smiles along the way.

It’s been wonderful to see everyone enjoying the activities, sharing laughter, and spreading a little extra love around the home☺️

Generation Fitness Visit🏆

Last week we had another wonderful visit from Chelsea from Generation Fitness!

The people who live in our home have been loving the opportunity to keep active in fun and different ways. There were smiles all around from everyone who took part, and the session was full of energy, laughter, and encouragement.

The Rowans Awards 2026🌟

Last week, we hosted our very first Rowans Awards Evening!

In the weeks leading up to the event, our whole community came together to vote across several award categories — team members, people who live in the home, and families all taking part to recognise the people who make our home so special.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating our incredible team. While only some team members could receive awards on the night and only few were photographed, we want to recognise and thank every single person who works at The Rowans. The care, compassion, teamwork, and dedication shown every day by the whole team are what truly make our home such a special place.

This celebration was about all of you and the difference you make to the lives of the people who live in our home.

Thank you for everything you do — we are so proud of our team🤍

January Ball🎉

Last week we waved goodbye to January in the best way possible — with plenty of singing, dancing, and smiles all round!

Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying great music, dancing along, and sharing special moments together as a community. The atmosphere was full of joy and laughter throughout the afternoon.

A huge thank you to the lovely Laura McDonald for another fantastic performance. As always, she kept everyone entertained and happy, with lots of sing-along favourites!

We’re already looking forward to many more days like this✨

January Birthday Recap🎂

We kicked off 2026 in style, celebrating so many of our wonderful people throughout January!☺️

Starting off with Lynda on the 6th who turned 74!

Then on the 8th, John celebrated his 78th birthday with us!

Then, on the 11th, Pat turned 77!

On the 18th Kenny turned 71!

Sylvia turned 69 on the 24th of the month!

The next day, on the 25th, Raymond celebrated his 81st birthday with us!

Then, ending off of the month on the 29th, we celebrated Margret’s 89th birthday!

Thank you to everyone who helped make these celebrations so special. We can’t wait to do it all again in February✨

Australia Day Celebrations🇦🇺

On Monday, everyone in our home enjoyed celebrating Australia Day together. We took part in traditional Aboriginal-inspired art, creating colourful heart designs while sharing a meaningful cultural experience.

The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of lovely photo opportunities, making it a truly special celebration for all involved🐨

Generation Fitness Visit!🏆

This week we were delighted to welcome back Chelsea from Generation Fitness for another fantastic session!

As always, everyone got fully involved, had lots of fun and enjoyed learning new ways to stay active and healthy. The energy in the room was wonderful to see!

Blue Monday at The Rowans💙

Monday 19th January is often described as Blue Monday, said to be the saddest day of the year. At The Rowans, we decided to turn that idea completely on its head by transforming the day into one filled with positivity, creativity and joy.

The people who live in the home spent the afternoon making colourful heart decorations, which are now displayed around the home as a reminder that love, kindness, and connection can lift spirits and brighten even the bluest of days🤍

The afternoon was full of smiles, conversation, and laughter, showing that when we share love and happiness, no day has to feel blue!
