“I am large, I contain multitudes” (from ‘Song of Myself’ by Walt Whitman).

People rarely experience emotions one at a time – and sometimes what we feel can seem contradictory. It’s a normal part of being human – embrace your complexity 💙

A few weeks ago, we posted about Amy, her organisation, All Ears Mental Health Association, and her successful funding bid.

Amy used some of the money she received from The Fore venture philanthropy fund to develop a new hub in Wigan to support young people with their mental health and is now inviting parents, carers, young people and curious professionals to the hub’s open day.

Come along on Saturday 5th July, 1-3.30pm, 432 Ormskirk Road, WN5 9DF, to find out more about the new hub, which will include a paint throwing room, rage room, journaling and colouring room, therapy room and training room.

Please book a place via the link in the comments 👇

The photo is of Amy outside the new hub on the day she got her keys to the building for the first time!

🌈 Top Tips Tuesday! ✨

This week, we’re helping children manage big emotions with Self-Management strategies and support ❤️

Our technique starts in Reception and builds each year, teaching children how to regulate their emotions with:

🐢 “Doing Turtle”
🛑 Stop
🌬️ Take a deep breath
💬 Say the problem and how you feel

Here are some simple ways to bring this into your classroom:

📦 Problem-Solving Boxes – A safe space for children to write, draw, or talk about their challenges so you can explore solutions together.
🤗 Playtime Buddies – Encourage children to notice when a friend is upset and use calming strategies together.
🧸 Calm Corner & Choice Cards – Let children choose a reset strategy that works for them, like deep breathing, doodling, or mindfulness colouring.

Next week, we’ll be getting into responsible decision making tips and we can’t wait to share! 💛
