Last week, we were delighted to welcome Anna Willis OT from Active Play Therapies to our termly SENCo network meeting.

Anna gave a fascinating insight into her work as an OT, our 8 (yes, 8!) senses and the impact that sensory differences can have on children (and how that may present in school).

Anna talked the group through some sensory strategies and emotional regulation ideas to support sensory differences and dysregulation in the classroom.

She also introduced us to ‘Calm Club’, an program designed by Anna to support parents who may be feeling overwhelmed or exhausted by their child’s meltdowns or dysregulation.

At Clear View Education we are already looking ahead to 2026 and are delighted that in January we’ll be welcome a specialist maths tutor to our team, Angele Whybrow! 🤩

Hi, I’m Angèle 👋

I’m very excited to be joining Clear View as a specialist tutor of maths.
I have been in teaching for the last 25 years and have worked in preschool, primary, EAL, SEN and both independent and state sectors.
For the last 14 years I have predominantly worked as a 1-1 specialist teacher providing maths support to students with SpLD across ages from 12 to 17.
I have always had a love of maths and a keen enthusiasm for helping students to overcome their anxiety with the subject and to build their confidence and enjoyment of it!

👀I will be based at the Wimborne hub on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons offering tuition to pupils from Yr 7 and above including Functional Skills, GCSE and A Level. I will also be offering sessions from a satellite hub in North Dorset.👀

Some fun facts about me:

⭐️ I actually like doing maths in my spare time! ➕🟰➗➖
⭐️I enjoy running with friends, especially in forests in the Autumn.🏃🏻‍♀️
⭐️ I’m obsessed with pigs – I used to have 2 piglets as pets, they were adorable, and it was great to see them grow tusks! 🐖🐖
⭐️ I love getting together with my (now grown up) children to catch up with their lives and have lovely long lunches.👫
⭐️ I also really enjoy live music and music festivals 🎏 Roll on the summer!🌞

Hi everyone 👋

I’m Amy and I am really excited to be joining the team Clear View Education as a Parent Advocate.

I have always worked in the public sector,
originally within the Criminal Justice system as a Probation Officer and for the past few years within the education system in teacher training and more recently school governance.

Best part of my job? 🤔
As a SEND parent myself, I am passionate about empowering and supporting others in a similar situation. It has been a long, challenging, exhausting and, frequently, lonely journey as a SEND parent. Having recently completed SEN Action’s Parent Advocacy training programme, I can’t wait to utilise my experience and knowledge to help other families 😍.

Fun facts about me! 🔎
• Before having children, my husband and I used to love climbing mountains and even ended up being chased by a bear up a mountain in the Rockies! 🧗‍♂️🐻
• Since turning 40 I have been learning to play the piano, something I have wanted to do for many years. I particularly enjoy playing Einaudi pieces 🎹
• I really love celebrating the change in seasons and love decorating our home with seasonal decorations throughout the year including decorative pumpkins and a bucket and spade garland! You can always tell what season it is by the wreath on my front door! 🌸😎🍁❄️
• I absolutely love the Jurassic Park films and get very excited every time a new one comes out in the cinema! 🦖🦕
• You will often find me frequenting one of the many coffee shops in Wimborne, my daily lattes help me through the day! ☕️

We are very excited to introduce another new member of our team - Anna Appleby-Ingram 🤩.

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m Anna and I began tutoring at the Clear View Education hub this summer, offering KS1 and KS2 1:1 and small group literacy and maths support.

I qualified as a primary school teacher in Cardiff over 20 years ago, and since then, have worked both in state and independent schools, teaching children from Nursery up to Y6.

My last teaching post was focussed on SEND and inclusion and I’m really excited to begin a postgraduate course in SpLD at Bath Spa University in the next few weeks🎓

Best part of my job? I love the diversity and honesty of working with children You never quite know what’s going to happen. It’s never boring! 🤣

Fun facts about me !
* I love anything to do with water, whether it’s swimming or walking at the beach 🌊🤿.
* ⁠I have a dog called Nelly, who thinks she is 6th human in our family! 🐶🐾
* ⁠I spend a lot of time with family, which usually centres around a meal (whilst planning the next!) 🍰🥘🥣

Wimborne Food Festival is just around the corner!

📅 Saturday 20th September
⏰ 11am - 4pm

Back for its second year, the festival promises even more to sink your teeth into.

Head to Willow Walk for free live talks and demonstrations from a fantastic line-up of local speakers, alongside artisan food stalls and family entertainment. You’ll also find more stalls on the Minster Green, plus Dorset Farmers Markets will be in Wimborne Square.

East Street and Church Street will be closed to traffic, creating the perfect space for al fresco dining and live music. On East Street, Keating’s Butchers will fire up a pop-up BBQ while The East Street Deli serves up festival cheese boxes. Church Street will be buzzing too, with live music, tapas from Ten Bottles Wimborne and a pint waiting for you at Dorset’s smallest pub, The Oddfellows Arms.

A warm welcome to a new member of the Clear View team - specialist tutor, Annette Fisher! 🤩

Over to Annette to introduce herself -

Hi, I’m Annette and I’m delighted to be joining Clear View Education as a specialist tutor.
I love teaching and have been lucky enough to be a teacher for over 30 years in both the state and independent sector🤩.

Having started as a primary school teacher, 13 years ago I undertook a post graduate qualification to become an SpLD teacher. I now teach a broad age range of pupils from 5 to 16 years.

I enjoy getting to know each individual pupil and get a real buzz seeing their ‘Eureka’ moment when they ‘get’ something they have previously found challenging! 💡

I will be tutoring at the Wimborne hub one day a week, the rest of the time at my satellite Clear View hub in North Dorset.

•I love rollercoasters …and will try any coaster at least once! 🎢

Hello! Welcome to Clear View Education!

As we slip into a new school year, I thought this would be a good time to reintroduce myself! 😍

I’m Anna, owner and director of Clear View.

I have been a teacher for over 30 years in both the state and independent sector. Following a postgraduate qualification in SpLD, I have spent the last 15 years teaching and supporting children who face barriers to their learning, whether that is, for example, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Autism, PDA, ODD or CDC.

2024 was the year I decided to step away from teaching in school and set up my own SEN consultancy business in Wimborne. The aim of Clear View Education is to offer tailored, highly structured SEN support (whether that is academically, emotionally or socially) for children and their families in the local area.
