Here is some old school psychology about how to bring about change to what you think about yourself, others, and the world. This is now 50 years old, but is it still relevant or true?

In CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), we often talk about changing behaviour to facilitate a change in the way we think and the way we feel. To be fair, it works (in the main). Here, it is suggested that you must force yourself into this change, to confront your employer, etc. But not only this, you must do it over and over again for long enough durations.

Now, I agree it takes courage and determination to make change in anything, including behaviour. However, must we engage in forcing and pushing ourselves? What do people think about this? Is there a gentler way to bring about positive change through our behaviour?

Little thought of the day 💭

Do you miss joy because it just comes and goes without making a big deal. It's such an understated emotion that gets missed amongst the hurricane of anger, sadness and anxiety. It was a long time ago that I read this in Happy by Derren Brown but it has stuck with me... possibly because of how true it is.

We miss laughter with a friend, that really yummy lunch and the kindness of a stranger - all because of something more uncomfortable because it stands out or feels all consuming.

Maybe today you can notice joy at least once, when it turns up quietly, alone and unceremoniously ☺️

Not one bit of dry skin or shoe damage on these little trotters! I am a huge fan of reflexology for EVERYONE, including children and babies 👶

Treatments are adapted in a few ways: pressure, medium, and treatment time. The parent/guardian/carer is always present!

Welcome Archie 👋

Archie arrived a touch earlier than expected last month. Of course, parenting a small child has been a whirlwind, and social media has been last on the to-do list. So, thanks for your patience!

🧘 LAST CHANCE TO YOGA WITH ME 🧘

This coming Monday (16th December 2024 7pm), is my last class at in Alresford before maternity leave 👶 🤰

This class is Christmas themed, so get ready for turkey pose and sleigh pose (not the traditional names of course) 😆 I'll be 30 weeks pregnant and so already looking and feeling like a Christmas turkey 🍗

Please do wear fancy dress/Christmas jumpers to bring even more festive spirit 🎄

I look forward to rounding off this yoga year with you!

I believe is taking over the class from the 23rd Dec and into the new year! She is a wonderful person and teacher, so you are in safe hands ⭐️

🤰 PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT🤰

We are very excited to be announcing our pregnancy. Our little one is due in February 2025!

With this comes a lot of change, and one of the things that is changing is Alma Entera.

TREATMENTS:
I will be winding down some of the more physical treatments such as massage, and later closing up temporarily from Christmas time this year. I am fortunate to have regular clients that I see monthly and these clients appointments shouldn't be affected until the temporary closure later in Dec 2024. I am not taking any new bookings at this time as I already have clients booked into Dec!

I'm not quite sure when I will open treatments back up or how many hours I will be able to offer but I will soon let you know, as soon as I do. I'm sure I will miss my small business and beautiful clients in the depths of the February dark nights 🌙

Most of you know that I work out of .winchester and there are a range of treatments available that you can book online in my absence!

YOGA:
I plan to teach until Christmas this year (if my body allows!). So, see you at class soon and hopefully next year (as the weather starts to improve)! I will keep updated and hope they will have me back!

If there are any other changes in the meantime, I will do my best to inform you 👶

Element: Ether 🌟

Come join me Monday 7pm for a wonderfully chilled evening session. It's our last element of the series, so come and complete your meditation bracelet ✨️

We will be focusing on relative stillness within long held postures, which will give us a sense of lift and spaciousness as a result.

Of course, there is going to be a weightless meditation at the end as you float through space. If technology works with me, we will also have the stars above us.
