Please be aware of this road closure that is likely to cause major congestion.
🚧 Planned A34/A33 Southbound Closure – Kings Worthy Bridge Repairs 🚧
I want to make you aware of important information from National Highways about upcoming works on the A34/A33.
As part of the essential repairs beneath Kings Worthy Bridge – including beam strengthening and concrete removal – the next phase involves removing the first of two bridge beams.
Because of the size of the crane required and the location of the bridge, there will be a 24-hour closure in place:
📅 9pm Saturday 15 November – 9pm Sunday 16 November 2025
📍 A34 southbound from Three Maids Hill and A33 southbound from the Cart and Horses junction
A signed diversion will be in place via the A34, A303 and M3.
These works are vital to ensure the safety and long-term resilience of the bridge.
Further phases will include re-installing this beam and then removing and replacing the second beam. National Highways will continue to provide updates as the project progresses – and I’ll share them here too.
