Stop with the excuses and start doing the things that bring you joy and put a smile on your face.

Maybe the chores can wait.
Maybe the planning can go on hold.
Maybe you choose rest over rushing.
Maybe you get outside for some fresh air.
Maybe you budget for joy, not just bills.
Maybe you actually see the friends you’ve been meaning to catch up with.
Maybe you take the Yoga class you’ve been eyeing up for months.
Maybe you say Yes to something new.

In our classes this week we slowed everything right down, working with many acupressure points to ease tension, boost circulation and support a calmer nervous system.

We also used the spikey ball to release tight spots and hydrate the fascia… helping the body move with more ease and fluidity. A soft, gentle shakeout followed by steady diaphragmatic breathing allowed the whole body to settle and unwind.

If you missed it, we’ll be moving through a similar, soothing practice this Friday 9:30-11am. So far the feedback has been that the practice is very much needed 🥰

First trail run in a couple of weeks this morning… it felt so good to get out ☀️ ⛰️ 🏃‍♂️ 🌅

I rolled my ankle and had to step back from my usual training. It’s taken lots of patience (so hard!), lots of letting go and lots of being kind to myself while it healed.

Worth it this morning though… sunshine, fresh air, chats with a good pal and finally feeling good on the trails again 🙌🏻

Someone asked me recently if all I do is Yoga to take care of myself…

No. It’s not!

Yoga gives me so much, but it’s not everything… in addition to time on the mat I need:

🏋️‍♀️ Weight lifting to strengthen my muscles and support my ageing bones
🏃‍♂️ Fell running for a good cardio hit to get my lungs and legs burning!
🚴‍♀️ Other types of exercise to mix it up and have some fun
🧘‍♀️ Meditation and breathwork to settle my brain and nervous system
⛰️ Hiking the beautiful fells for my daily nature fix (and to catch up with friends and family)
🥗 Healthy homemade veggie food to nourish
🍰 And cake (obvs) to enjoy

Yoga is a big part of my wellbeing, it’s just not the whole picture.

But of course, the real Yoga goes far beyond the poses on the mat 😉

This is my next full day workshop that has availability (just 4 spaces left). It will be another soulful day of connection and reflection.

Together we’ll move, breathe, rest, share and rise up together. Expect Yoga, movement, stillness, nourishing food, open-hearted honest conversation, deep rest and loving presence.

In this week’s classes we are exploring a well-balanced practice starting (as we often do) with a simple pranayama (breath work) technique before working into external and internal hip rotation, core stabilisation, and some spinal rotation. You can also expect a few balance challenges lying and standing to integrate strength and awareness through the whole body.

A little bit of everything to support healthy movement patterns and a settled state of Being. The focus is more steady, spacious and grounding rather than anything too fiery!
