5 reasons you’re still making progress if the scale isn’t budging

Vicki Atkinson

Vicki’s journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible — even after setbacks, injuries, or health challenges.

At Better Body Studios, we believe that everyone can still train, regardless of past injuries, illness, or even chronic disease. With the right coaching, structure, and support, progress is always possible — and Vicki is living proof.

This wasn’t an easy choice
(our community is packed with legends), but Vicki’s resilience, consistency, and quiet determination made her stand out in a big way.

A few years ago, Vicki suffered some serious back trauma.
Most people in her shoes would’ve played it safe and stopped moving… which might feel okay in the short term, but for long-term health it’s disastrous.

But Vicki made a different choice.

With care, patience, and a smart plan, we adapted everything to suit her body.
Bodyweight first.
Then light weights.
Then, little by little, we progressed.

💥 Fast forward to December:
Vicki pulled 30kg on the trap bar.
Something that felt impossible just 8 months ago.

In her own words:

At my age — late 50s — I knew my bone health was important for later life. I knew I had to do something… but didn’t know what or how.”

What she found at Better Body Studios?

Weight loss doesn’t need to be extreme.
