Running small business and being a small business, I like to support other small businesses whenever I can. I was in Bristol for a brilliant course about thyroid and adrenal health. At lunchtime I wandered into this beautiful shop https://www.wildlybeautifulthings.co.uk/
The chap manning the shop is the owner’s partner and we chatted about all manner of things including the vagus nerve! He made my day even better and the shop completely captivated me 🥰

Good tips for lowering hayfever symptoms. Start now people, before you get symptoms! I’ve found being gluten free helps reduce my symptoms massively

As we enter hayfever season, here are 5 tips to help you manage seasonal allergies naturally:

🍯Source some local honey and take a spoonful a day in the couple of months leading up to and during your usual hay fever period

🌿Try drinking nettle tea - it’s one of nature’s natural antihistamines and can help to relieve symptoms like sneezing, itchy eyes and a runny nose

💫Boost your immune system with supplements such as magnesium, quercetin, turmeric, vitamins A, C, D & E, NAC and probiotics and/or the homeopathic remedy, A.Vogel Pollinosan…
..even better, instead of guessing what your body needs, go and see your local kinesiologist so they can muscle test you and find out EXACTLY which of these you'll benefit from!

🥛Reduce your intake of dairy to reduce mucous production which will make symptoms worse

🧄Up your intake of garlic - it’s best eaten raw and is a natural anti-inflammatory and antihistamine. If you can’t stomach that, try taking garlic tablets. Not only will it boost your immune system, it also acts as a natural decongestant and can help to relieve symptoms.

Ever wondered why Kinesiology feels like magic, but works like science? 🧠✨

If you’re looking for a discipline that gets to the root of the issue rather than masking the symptoms, Kinesiology is the ultimate game-changer. Here’s why it’s the coolest tool in the wellness kit:

1️⃣ It’s a Full-Body Detective 🕵️‍♀️
Using muscle monitoring, we get a direct line to the body’s wisdom. It’s like having a conversation with the system to find out exactly what’s out of balance—physically, emotionally, nutritionally or energetically and what to do to restore balance.

2️⃣ Truly Holistic (No, really!) ⚖️
We don’t just look at a sore shoulder or a stressed mind in isolation. Kinesiology looks at the whole person. We find the links between your gut health, your posture, your emotions (and loads of other things) to bring everything back into harmony.

3️⃣ Empowering & Personalised 🌟
There’s no "one size fits all" here. Every session is as unique as your fingerprint. Learning Kinesiology gives you the tools to help others (and yourself!) unlock the body’s inner wisdom and natural ability to heal.

4️⃣ The "Aha!" Moments 💡
There is nothing quite like the look on a client’s face when a session releases a block they didn't even know was there. It’s powerful, transformative, and deeply rewarding work for client and practitioner alike.

5️⃣ A Vibrant Community 🤝
When you study Kinesiology, you join a global family of curious, heart-centered practitioners who are all about growth, energy, and support.

Whether you're looking for a new career or want to add a powerhouse skill to your current practice, Kinesiology opens doors you didn't even know existed. 🚪✨

What Happens During a Kinesiology Session?

Your first kinesiology session is all about you. Your practitioner will take the time to understand your medical and lifestyle history, helping to identify any specific concerns or areas of stress. The goal is to support your overall well-being.

Using gentle muscle response testing, your kinesiologist will assess imbalances that may be affecting your health. You’ll stay fully clothed, and the process is completely non-invasive.

💡 A key thing to remember: Kinesiology isn’t about diagnosing or treating conditions, it’s about releasing stress and regulating the nervous system. When the body is in balance, it can heal and function at its best.

During your session, you’ll be asked to place your arms, legs, or head in different positions while your practitioner applies light pressure to test muscle responses. This helps identify exactly what your body needs to restore balance.

Many people say they leave a session feeling more relaxed, lighter, with more energy and less pain or tension. Your kinesiologist may also offer tailored recommendations, such as dietary adjustments, nutritional support, relaxation techniques, or lifestyle changes, to help you maintain that balance.

Burnout rates remain high across the UK workforce, particularly in women aged 35–54.

ONS labour market data continues to show stress as a leading cause of sickness absence in organisations.

But stress doesn’t just affect how we feel.
It affects how our body functions.

Ongoing stress can influence sleep, digestion, immune response and hormone balance.

Whole-person health means recognising that physical symptoms are often connected to emotional and environmental pressures.

Health is rarely one-dimensional, which makes Kinesiology a perfect solution.

Kinesiology works with the body as an integrated system, supporting the body to return to overall balance, rather than treating symptoms in isolation.
It looks at 4 main realms of health and addresses imbalances wherever they are found: Physical, Mental/emotional, Biochemical, and Energetic/electrical.

If 2026 is your year to address your health and well being as a whole, you can find your local KA qualified practitioner to support you on that journey here: https://kinesiologyassociation.org/find-a-practitioner/

Ever felt like you were just a number?

You won’t when you experience kinesiology!

Kinesiology is wonderful because it focuses on you as a whole, unique person rather than focusing on one physical symptom.

During a session practitioners look at ALL the components of a client’s health and wellbeing, such as:

Emotional wellbeing and general stress levels
Physical and structural integrity – bones and joints
Chemical input – skin and cleaning products, medication
Nutritional status – lack and surplus, current food choices, hydration
Electro Magnetic Stress – Bluetooth, wifi, strip lighting
Lifestyle - work life balance, exercise, hours at work, enjoyment or otherwise

This approach to individual health & wellbeing means that even when clients experience the same symptoms - let's say fatigue and low energy - they will experience different and UNIQUE outcomes from having kinesiology.

Depending on all of the factors mentioned above, and what the body shows us through muscle response testing, one of those clients may be dehydrated for example, while the other may be lacking in vital vitamins or minerals.

This WHOLE PERSON approach to health and wellbeing is what sets Kinesiology apart from many other modalities.

A good measure of the body's hydration levels is the colour or your urine.

Going for gold isn’t good when it comes to your wee!

It’s a sign that your body needs more water.

And on the other side of the spectrum, did you know that CLEAR urine is a sign that your body is trying to get rid of excess fluid?

Dr Stuart Farrimond explains that once we see clear urine, the kidneys are having to work overtime and we may be on the way to fluid overload. The best thing to do is stop drinking because you are overhydrated.

Urine with a pale yellow colour is what to aim for; it's a sign that you are well hydrated.

With so much focus on staying hydrated, we thought this might help you measure how your body is doing.

Despite thinking we need to drink more, sometimes less is best!
