City Welfare Officer

Worcester BID, in partnership with RTN Medical, is recruiting a City Welfare Officer to join our frontline team. This is a visible, proactive, and highly rewarding role, helping to support businesses, deter crime and anti-social behaviour, and build a safer, stronger city centre.
About the Role
As a City Welfare Officer, you will:
· Patrol the city centre, providing a friendly and supportive presence for businesses and visitors.
· Respond to calls for assistance from businesses and CCTV, attending incidents where needed.
· Identify and deter anti-social behaviour, escalating issues to the appropriate partners.
· Carry out business welfare checks and build strong relationships with levy payers.
· Coordinate the CityNet radio system and provide in-store loss-prevention and radio training.
· Work closely with West Mercia Police, Worcester City Council, Worcester Cares, and other key partners.
· Maintain accurate records, intelligence reports and monthly updates for the BID leadership team.
This is a dynamic, varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll make a real difference to Worcester’s safety and community wellbeing.

· Reliable, professional and community-minded
· Comfortable working outdoors and patrolling in all weather
· Able to work independently and as part of a supportive team
· Organised with good record-keeping and basic IT skills
Desirable:
SIA licence (or willingness to train), first aid skills, experience in community safety, CCTV, retail security, or customer-facing roles.
