A very grey and wet December day for the last Lync Together Walk & Talk of 2025 which also happens to be the Winter Solstice (the shortest day of the year). We walked along the Chesterfield Canal and over Shireoaks Pit Top. Normally there are lovely countryside views from the top but not today, it was all shrouded in mist!

Today’s Lync Together Walk & Talk to Whitwell Wood. A wintry walk but we managed to avoid the worst of the weather. Nice to catch up with friends.

A lovely scenic walk today for Lync Together’s Walk & Talk to Thoresby pit top via Sherwood Heath and Thoresby Vale Country Park. This walk takes in spectacular 360 degree views across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We even managed to avoid the rain and finished off the walk with a cuppa and chip butties at the Green Mug Cafe!

Why not join us for the next Lync Together Walk & Talk to Sherwood Heath and Thoresby Vale Country Park? If you have not done this walk before it’s definitely not one to be missed. Enjoy fantastic 360 degree views from the old Thoresby pit top across Sherwood Forest, Edwinstowe, Ollerton, Thoresby, scenic Nottinghamshire countryside and beyond.

Meet on Sunday 19th October at 11.00 am in The Alders pub car park off the main Ollerton roundabout. There are a few designated car parking spaces at the entry to the main car park for the walk but we have parked in the main car park previously without any problems.

The walk will last around 90 minutes and as usual everyone is welcome.
