Day 5 of our Making Sense of Anxiety series … today we’re talking about Sleep 😴

When it comes to anxiety, sleep is often the first thing we overlook … but have you noticed how everything feels harder when you’re exhausted?

When you haven’t had enough good quality sleep, your nervous system is already on edge before the day even begins. So the smallest things can feel bigger, more overwhelming and much harder to manage.

It’s not that you’re “not coping”… your system is just tired 💫

😴 You might notice:

– You feel more irritable.
– Your thoughts race more easily.
– You feel more emotional or sensitive.
– Things that wouldn’t usually bother you suddenly do.

This is why sleep isn’t a luxury when it comes to anxiety … it’s foundational.

If sleep is a struggle for you, start gently with no pressure to get it perfect. Maybe that looks like:
– Swapping scrolling for something calming before bed.
– Giving your mind a chance to slow down with a short meditation.
– Or even just going to bed a little earlier than usual.
Small changes really do add up 🤍

In my private group, we go a little deeper; sharing experiences, tips, and gentle experiments around sleep. If it feels right, you’d be very welcome to join us https://www.facebook.com/groups/1410457717203925/

🧡 Day 4 of our Making Sense of Anxiety Series 🧡

Sometimes what feels like a little “wind down” at the end of the day can actually make anxiety feel louder over time.

Alcohol can seem relaxing at first, and it might even help you fall asleep … but it can actually disrupt sleep and leave anxious thoughts feeling louder the next day.🍷

It’s not about giving up entirely (although I know I'm not the only one who's ditched it for good!) - it’s just about noticing how it affects you.

💫 Some ideas to try:

Pay attention to how your body feels the morning after - not good?

Try swapping one drink for a calming herbal tea or a fancy, alcohol free version of your favourite tipple

Notice patterns - is anxiety stronger after certain evenings?

Even small adjustments can make a real difference.

✨ In my private group, we go a little deeper; sharing experiences, tips, and gentle experiments around triggers like this. If it feels right, you’d be very welcome to join us 🤍

🧡 Day 3 of our Making Sense of Anxiety series 🧡

Our phones and social feeds can be amazing, and exhausting, at the same time!

Constant scrolling, comparison, and information overload can make anxious thoughts feel louder than usual.

This is not about “blaming yourself” or quitting entirely - it’s just about noticing how it affects you.

💫 Some ideas you might like to try:

Take small breaks from social media during the day.

Turn off notifications - an easy win.

Try noticing how your body feels while scrolling ... tension, racing thoughts?

Use customisable apps like Screen Zen to create gentle boundaries if needed.

💫 Even small shifts can help your mind feel a little calmer.

✨ Inside my private group, we explore this in more depth; sharing experiences, little experiments, and supportive tips for creating healthy digital habits. If it feels right, you’re very welcome to join us 🤍

💭 How does social media affect your anxiety - Do you notice a difference on heavy scrolling days versus lighter ones?

🧡💫🤍 What is Inner Child work ... and why does it matter?

In hypnotherapy, we sometimes work with the younger parts of you that still carry old emotions, beliefs, or protective patterns.

Your inner child isn’t imaginary. It represents:
• Early experiences
• Core beliefs formed in childhood
• Emotional memories stored in the body
• The part of you that learned how to stay safe

When that younger part feels unheard, it can show up as:
– Overthinking
– Low self-worth
– Fear of rejection
– Self-sabotage
– Difficulty trusting

When we gently revisit and support those parts in a safe, guided way, clients often describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more whole.

It’s not about reliving trauma.
It’s about rewriting the emotional experience with compassion.

And it’s one of the most beautiful things to witness as a therapist 🧡💫🤍

💫 If something in this resonates with you, I’d love to support you.
You can message me privately to find out more about how we can work together, or book a session to begin reconnecting with the parts of you that deserve to feel safe, seen, and valued 🧡💫🤍

Day 2 of our Making Sense of Anxiety series!

Sometimes the things we reach for to wake up or get through the day can make anxiety feel louder 📢

Yes, I’m talking about caffeine ☕

Coffee, energy drinks, even some teas … they can all trigger that jittery, restless feeling that many of us notice as anxiety.

It doesn’t mean you have to give it up entirely but noticing how your body reacts can make a real difference.

💫 Try experimenting with:

Switching to a smaller cup or decaf in the afternoon.

Pairing your coffee with a mindful pause - taking a few steady, mindful breaths before your first sip.

Observing how your nervous system feels after a stimulant.

Even small tweaks can make your days feel calmer.

✨ Inside my private group, The Inner Sanctuary, we go a little deeper, sharing tips, gentle experiments, and real-life experiences around triggers like this. If you feel called, you’d be very welcome to join us 🤍

🤍💫🧡New series - Making Sense of Anxiety 🧡💫🤍

Anxiety isn’t always just about what’s going on in your mind …
I see it so often - little everyday things can have a bigger impact than we realise.
The way we sleep.
How much we’re on our phones.
What we’re eating (or not eating).
How we’re speaking to ourselves.
And the tricky part is, sometimes we’re unintentionally making things feel a bit harder for ourselves - I know I’ve definitely been guilty of this too 🤍

So over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to share some of the most common patterns I notice with my clients, along with some tips and tricks you might find helpful💫

Nothing heavy or overwhelming. Just gentle awareness and small things you can tweak if they resonate. Take what feels helpful and ignore the rest 🧡

✨ I’ll be sharing these here … and going a little deeper with them inside my private group , The Inner Sanctuary - so if you feel called to join us in there, you’d be very welcome 🤍 It’s a really lovely, supportive community 💫

The world often reflects what’s happening inside of you.

When you begin to focus on your inner light, your strength, your calm, your clarity, something powerful happens…

You start to see less darkness, not because it’s gone, but because your perspective has changed.

And when your perspective changes, your entire experience of life transforms.

So today, take a moment… and tune into your light.

💫The Reset Session💫

If you’re feeling overstimulated, tense, or stuck in your head, this gentle blend of Indian Head Massage and ASMR Touch Therapy is designed to help your whole nervous system slow down.

If your mind won’t switch off and you’re craving deep comfort … this may be exactly what you need.

ASMR Touch Therapy (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a gentle, nurturing, tactile experience designed to guide your body into a profound state of relaxation 💫

Soft, mindful touch helps create soothing sensations that often begin at the scalp and flow down the neck and spine, encouraging your whole system to slow, soften, and settle.

How it supports you:

• Activates the parasympathetic nervous system (your rest & restore mode)

• Encourages feelings of safety, calm, and comfort

• Triggers the release of oxytocin (the “feel-good” hormone)

• Helps reduce cortisol and ease stress held in the body

• Ideal if you feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, tense, or emotionally drained

This is about allowing your body to receive, unwind, and be gently held 🤍

I’m now offering this beautiful treatment from my cosy therapy room at Ivy & Lace.

Book here 👇🏼 if you’d like to experience it for yourself 🧡💫🤍
