Thinking of a New Year’s resolution? Why not start now?

Avoid the “boom and bust” approach when you hit January, where people have the best intentions, but fail to set achievable, sustainable goals.

Instead, why not start making changes now, so you’ve got it all worked out come January 1st.
Small, sustainable goals that promote consistency is how you make resolutions successful 👌🏻

🍌3 things people often get wrong with Sports Nutrition 🍞

This doesn’t just apply to elite athletes; many recreational athletes are training hard, but not paying enough attention to how they’re fuelling their body.

We can’t expect our phone to function without charge, so how can we expect our bodies to function without fuel?

Just by verbalising your goals and what you’re trying to achieve with someone else, your chances of success increase by up to 70%!

So make sure you don’t keep quiet about your intentions, and tell someone close to you, so they can support you on your way to success 💪🏻
And if someone you know is working on a goal, check in with them to see if you can help them in any way, even if it’s just by allowing them to talk about it! 🙌🏻

Performing regular strength training can reduce your risk of premature death by 10-20%, alongside an endless list of health benefits.

And for anyone doing a sport, strength training is vital for improving bone and muscle strength, to try and keep you injury free and performing at your best. It should complement your sport specific training, and allow you to unlock another level of fitness.

It doesn’t need to be complicated or time consuming, and you can do it with relatively little equipment. Speak to a qualified coach if you want to get started and see how it can help you!

“If it was easy, everyone would do it”

It’s not a challenge if it’s not hard to achieve, so if your motivation towards achieving a personal goal is wavering, that is completely normal! We can’t remain 100% motivated all the time, we just need to stay on track and be consistent through the highs and lows.

So whatever it is that you’re working towards, this is your message to keep going, you’re doing amazingly, and you’ll get there before you know it!

How is your body feeling this Monday as the temperature drops and a new week starts?
I know I could do with a massage after a busy weekend, but what about you? ☺️💆‍♀️

Massage isn’t a miracle cure, but it can feel like the next best thing 😉

I’ve got one space left for this week coming, but from next week, Uni lecturing reduces and the Heidi Fitness 360 diary opens up more slots again! So book in before they get filled!

If you have a spare 20mins, check out the latest podcast episode from , which is a recording of a presentation I did to a group of Youth Sprinters, discussing three key areas for optimal performance:
- Nutrition
- Recovery
- Injury Prevention

The information I discuss can be applicable to any sport, recreational or competitive. I cover what happens if you don’t fuel or recover properly, the most common causes of injury, and how to optimise all three elements to get the best out of your body 👌🏻

How much attention do you pay to your recovery?

My body is giving me all the signals that it’s on the verge of training too hard, so it’s time to scale back a bit with a deload week.

We are not machines, so make sure you listen to your body’s signals when it’s struggling, and give it time and space to recover before something goes wrong!

Recovery can look different for everyone, but typically it will involve less intense workouts, more rest, more sleep and good nutrition 👌🏻

Customer Notice 📝
Unfortunately, after two years of keeping my prices the same, I’ve had to make a small increase to what I charge at Heidi Fitness 360.

My aim is always to provide you with the highest quality services, but keep it affordable and on the lower end of market value. Everything is getting more expensive, and I don’t think money should be a barrier to taking care of your health. 👌🏻

Thank you to all of my customers over the years who have supported my business; it’s such a special job to be able to help people all day long 🥰

It takes a lot of work behind the scenes, but I’m proud of what Heidi Fitness 360 can now offer:
🤕 Injury Assessment and Treatment
🤲🏻 Sports Massage
🏋🏼‍♀️ Exercise Coaching
🥗 Nutrition Coaching

Monday is your physical and psychological set up for the week, so using today to get your week organised, for whatever you have coming up, is a great way to get the week off to a positive start 👌🏻

I like to make sure all my meals are prepared for the week, or I’ve at least got the right foods in the house. I also write out my To Do list for my working life. This gives me a clear plan of what needs to get done by certain days, and helps organise my brain so I can think straight!
