🤩 10 Y E A R S - Challenging Celebration 🤩
It's a long post so grab a cuppa ☕
Where to begin...what started as a crazy idea turned into reality and I'm not just talking about setting up my own business 10 years ago but 'The Challenging Celebration - 10 Workouts for 10 Years'! When I first said about a get together for 10 years everyone gave me the thumbs up, I then said how about 10 back to back workouts and there were a few raised eyebrows, but then the idea stuck and it actually happened and you were all amazing!
People could dip in and out throughout the day, doing as many or as little as they wanted to do or just come and celebrate at the end with Burgers and Bubbles! Well I am delighted that throughout the day, 54 people joined for burgers and bubbles, 42 of which joined in a class of 2 and 16 superstars achieved the challenge of completing all 10! Incredible 🥳
The day started with a few nervous people contemplating their choice of signing up to all 10 workouts and after an intense HIIT class to begin I thought gee-whizz I'm not sure I can hack it! Next it was time for a Powergise class with a traditional circuit and a visit from The Police and burpee-ing Roxanne (I remember doing this workout at Dominus CrossFit and I remember the 'joy' it brought!) moving onto a Sweaty Stretch; intense for 20m then a nice breather for 10, which was much needed before Chip-Chipper - a workout where you go your own pace and just chip chip chip away at the exercises, we finished the morning with a nice Pilates where the chocolates came out to 'test' our balance! Phew, that was 5 out of 10 workouts complete and everyone was still smiling...🤔
After a very generous 15 minute break it was straight back in with an old school Powergise workout - teams of 3 working together to get through as many rounds as possible, jelly legs and laughter! Core...Phwor was next - tempo work for those Abs and no-one was laughing after that, but into Sweaty Stretch we went, again for 20 minutes of HIIT and a little lying stretch before the final 2! A third Powergise class was the penultimate workout where 30 people joined in for a warm up of cones, then a game of cards before Squatting Sally finished off our legs - I'm not sure everyone was smiling after that! But onto our Final Class we went, which was P I L A T E S with some of my favourite exercises and stretches and more balancing of chocolates!
To finish the day the wonderful Alison & Tim- The Willows Catering Co, came with Burgers and Bubbles (& their fabulous smiley service) which was absolutely delicious and very much welcomed by all! The raffle was drawn, a speech was made (yes there was a few tears, it happens when you're passionate and grateful) and a gorgeous cake was devoured!
🩷 Throughout the day we had a cake stall, pick 'n' mix and raffle - all money raised from this was going to The Bubble Foundation. I will be doing another post with information on this and revealing the total raised!
I have a lot of thank yous to make;
- YOU for making this possible
- All my Cake Makers
- Sally H for organising Sweet Cones & Cakes
- Helen W for bringing our lunch (Wilson Pigs & Potatoes!)
- Raffle prize donations from Shed Stars and Local Businesses.
- Dad and Mum for helping to set up.
- Nicola, Amanda & Lucy for registration and raffle tickets.
- Tidy up helpers - so many helped to chip in!
- The Stamps / Nunnington Village Hall for bringing tables!
If I've missed you I'm sorry but I promise you didn't go unnoticed!
A big thanks to Jon-boy for always supporting my crazy ideas, allowing me to take over the Shed and Yard and juggle our businesses, farm life and little boy! And a special thanks to my Mum, Dad and Nic who give up so much time and are always there for me, Ralph & the girls 🐾 helping behind the scenes endlessly. I'm so lucky to have such a supportive family not only for events, but life!
The Challenging Celebration was to celebrate 10 incredible years of GR-PT, my own Personal Training business that has developed, grown and helped so many people and I absolutely love it. But not only that but to celebrate the community that YOU have helped to build, the support that you not only give me but each other and the friendships that have been made.
I value you all so much and will be forever grateful for helping make my D R E A M a R E A L I T Y!
'Thanks, Thanks a million, Thanks with no end' - as Stick Man says!
Sunday was E P I C...let's do it again, but when my body has recovered!
Here is to the next 10 years and many more 🥂
