I became a research biologist after graduating with a Biology degree at UNC. I left my career after 25 years in the lab to start my own wellness business with USANA. I was a young married mother of 2 delightful boys, taking a couple of years away from my career as a research biologist at UNC when our lives turned upside down in 1991. My 17 month son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Hypoglycemic seizures and a series of medications over the next 10 years resulted in brain injury and liver damage. We made the decision to homeschool our youngest son in 2001 and our schedules went into overdrive juggling our hectic schedules.
My own health was compromised significantly by the emotional and physical stress, and I was struggling to maintain my responsibilities to work and my family. A friend of mine introduced me to the idea of working from home with USANA Health Sciences. After careful research, I found excellent standards in both science-based formulations and pharmaceutical grade manufacturing processes. I also appreciate that USANA’s founder is Dr. Myron Wentz, a top scientist in immunology and microbiology.

Reducing some of the stress and supporting my body with high potency supplements brought my own health back. I finally was able to sleep better and gained energy to continue to care for my son and decided to start my own wellness business in 2004.
