Eating Away Grief

The loss of someone close, whether that loss is expected or not, can be devastating. A wide range of emotions may be attached to that loss. These may include feelings of sadness, anger, betrayal and guilt. Importantly, there is no strict process to grieving. Hence, it is a personal experience and we move through different emotions, which can come in waves. Importantly, there is support for grief which can help you feel lighter and hold the love you had for that person calmly in your heart.

Relationships can be complicated, which is often why the emotions of losing someone can be so difficult to deal with. This may result in suppressing those emotions. Some people may have lost a parent or a sibling that they haven't seen for a decade due to a number of reasons. For others nursing their family member through an illness may have meant that the grief process began some time before death. After this may be guilt, which follows an initial feeling relief once their loved one has been laid to rest.

Client Testimonial

"I had heard so many good reports about Ann and her work I felt it was the right time to book an appointment with the lovely lady. Years of battling depression, weight issues and then the loss of my mum and then recently my dad, Ann helped immensely.

With Ann's help I can laugh without feeling guilt and also remember the more happy memories. I'm not stressing about what goes in my mouth and know when to stop eating. Things have definitely got a more positive outlook, which helps with everything else going on in my life. I am feeling relaxed but energised and that is something that hasn't been in my life for a very long time. Thank you Ann."

"I am now the power in my life." Giselle T

How to Stop Overthinking Through Hypnotherapy

Overthinking is a common challenge many people face. It often involves dwelling on the same thoughts, worries, or problems. This mental habit can lead to anxiety, stress, and even decision paralysis. How to stop overthinking is a question many pose.

Several factors contribute to overthinking. One common reason is fear. Fear of making mistakes or facing negative outcomes can cause individuals to replay scenarios repeatedly in their minds. Additionally, past experiences, especially trauma, can lead to rumination. The mind tends to hold onto painful memories, often leading to a cycle of negative thinking.

Another reason for overthinking is perfectionism. The desire to achieve flawless results can cause individuals to scrutinise every detail, which may foster anxiety. Social pressures and expectations can also fuel overthinking, as people may feel the need to constantly evaluate their choices based on perceived standards.

So, how can one break free from this cycle? Hypnotherapy is a powerful technique that can help address the root causes of overthinking. It works by accessing the subconscious mind, where many negative experiences and beliefs are stored. Through guided relaxation, hypnotherapy allows individuals to explore these underlying issues safely.

The process of hypnotherapy can lead to increased awareness and understanding of one's thought patterns. It helps in reframing negative beliefs and reducing anxiety. As a result, individuals often find it easier to let go of their worries and focus on the present moment.

How To Stop Driving Test Nerves - Your Journey To Confidence

Feeling anxious before a driving test is entirely normal. Nerves are a sign that something is important. However, those nerves can become overwhelming and impact your ability to put your best performance forward. Many people experience racing thoughts, shaky hands, and a deep sense of dread when faced with a test of any sort. Additionally, you may worry about failing or being judged. Moreover, this pressure can feel immense and all-consuming. Let's look at addressing those driving test nerves.

Test anxiety often stems from a fear of failure. The thought of disappointing yourself or loved ones can weigh heavily. But remember, anxiety is just a feeling. Significantly, anxiety does not define you or your abilities. Hence, with the right strategies, you can conquer this fear.

Client Testimonial

"Ann was recommended to me by my GP as someone who could help with my fear of driving. During our sessions, Ann made a connection between my anxiety and two childhood experiences witnessing car accidents. After time spent with Ann I was able to overcome my fear completely. This enabled me to pass my Driving Test, which I was close to giving up on before seeing Ann. I wish I had found Ann earlier, but now I am enjoying my freedom." Madaleine

Addressing Negative Beliefs Through Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that utilises the state of trance to facilitate positive change in a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. One area where hypnotherapy has been used to great effect is in addressing negative beliefs that individuals may hold about themselves or their experiences.

Negative beliefs can be deeply ingrained and may stem from various sources, including past experiences, societal influences, or unresolved emotional issues. These beliefs can manifest as self-doubt, anxiety, procrastination or negative self-talk. Hence, these issues can hinder personal growth and well-being.

Addressing Negative Beliefs

Hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious mind, where these negative beliefs often reside. In a relaxed, focused state, individuals can explore the root causes of their negative beliefs. Through healing, guided imagery and positive affirmations, it is possible to reframe these beliefs, replacing them with more constructive and empowering thoughts.

Hypnotherapy is a great option for addressing negative beliefs. As a result of this, issues like low self-esteem, fear of failure, and self-sabotaging behaviours are released. By fostering a sense of relaxation and safety, individuals can confront and change the narratives they've been telling themselves. This process can lead to increased confidence, improved self-image, and a healthier outlook on life. Many of my clients report feeling lighter, often after just one session.

The Vital Role of Outdoor Play in Child Development

In today's digital age, the vital role of outdoor play for child development cannot be overstated. As screens have become more common in our lives, children are spending more time indoors, engaging with devices rather than exploring the natural world. It is essential for parents and caregivers to recognise the significant benefits of outdoor activities and the negative impacts of excessive screen time on our children's physical, emotional, and social growth.

It is important to acknowledge that humans are part of nature. Outdoors is where our ancesters lived. Modern life has changed significantly. However, the way we develop is largely through movement. More children are struggling and a key reason for this, is lack of outdoors time and lack of movement.

The Vital Role of Outdoor Play: Benefits

Firstly, outdoor play encourages physical activity, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Engaging in activities such as running, climbing, and cycling helps children develop essential motor skills, build strength, and maintain a healthy weight. Moreover, the fresh air and sunlight provide Vitamin D, which is vital for bone development and overall health.

In addition to physical benefits, outdoor play has been linked to improved mental well-being. When children are outside, they are exposed to nature, which has a calming effect on the mind. The beauty of the environment can reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression. Consequently, spending time outdoors can help children develop resilience, emotional intelligence, and coping skills.

Furthermore, outdoor activities foster social skills. Whether playing tag, engaging in team sports, or simply exploring with friends, children learn to communicate, negotiate, and cooperate with others. These interactions create a sense of belonging and community, building critical skills that will serve them throughout their lives. As they navigate relationships and resolve conflicts, they also develop empathy and understanding.

The Quiet Power of Knowing Yourself

There’s a quiet strength in knowing yourself. Not in a loud, showy way but in the grounded steadiness of someone who’s taken time to sit with their own mind, heart and spirit. In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, be more, and move faster, personal growth often begins with something deceptively simple: pausing.

When we slow down, we begin to notice. We notice what makes us feel light, and what leaves us drained. We notice the gentle tug of our values. Essentially, those inner truths that guide us when the noise of the world fades. Additionally, we begin to notice our triggers, too. The situations or words that cause old painful patterns to flare up. But instead of reacting, we can learn to respond. That’s the power of knowing yourself.

Buddhist wisdom often speaks of “mindfulness”, not as a buzzword, but as a way of truly living. To be mindful is to be fully present in each moment, with curiosity and compassion. When we meet ourselves this way, even our most challenging emotions become teachers. Anger might point us toward a boundary that needs attention. Sadness might show us what we deeply care about. Fatigue might be a whisper reminding us to rest and realign or guiding towards where we are expending vital energy.

Understanding the Physical Symptoms of Anxiety

Anxiety affects millions of people, yet its physical symptoms can vary significantly from person to person. It is not just a mental struggle; the body often bears the brunt of this emotional distress. Some common physical symptoms include rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, sweating, and fatigue. Furthermore, gastrointestinal issues and headaches are also prevalent. Each individual may experience these symptoms in different intensities, making dealing with the symptoms of anxiety a uniquely personal challenge.

For some, anxiety manifests as a tightness in the chest or shortness of breath. Others may find themselves dealing with trembling hands or a racing mind. It’s vital to recognise that your experience is valid, regardless of how it appears to others. Understanding these symptoms can be the first step towards healing.

Hypnotherapy Goes Deeper Than Solely Addressing the Symptoms of Anxiety

One effective approach to address these symptoms is hypnotherapy. This therapeutic technique dives into the subconscious mind, aiming to uncover and address root causes of anxiety. Often, past traumas or negative experiences lie hidden, influencing our present feelings. My work focuses on this aspect: identifying and resolving those deep-seated issues.

We will also ensure that any current life stresses are addressed. Sometimes this is about taking a solution-focussed approach. Other times, we look at how you can be best supported through a difficult time.

Why Don't I Feel Good Enough?

Feeling good enough is crucial for our self-esteem. Yet, many people struggle with this issue. You may wonder why this happens. Often, it stems from unresolved trauma and negative experiences buried in the subconscious mind. These feelings can be overwhelming and confusing. To feel good enough is so important to living our best lives and therefore, is an important issue to resolve.

Commonly our childhood experiences have a great influence on whether we feel good enough. We may feel that our siblings are better than us. Perhaps a parent or key adult in your life always favoured someone else over you. A teacher might have told you that you wouldn't amount to anything or that you were a waste of space. These messages become your reality as you start to slip into the role that others create for you.

There is no doubt that our past influences our present. Many individuals carry the weight of early experiences that shape how they see themselves. This is where my work comes in. I focus on addressing these root causes to help you overcome these feelings.

Does Hypnotherapy Help Improve Self-Esteem?

Self-esteem and confidence are often confused, but they are distinct. Self-esteem reflects how we value ourselves. In contrast, confidence is our belief in our abilities. Improving self-esteem can lead to increased confidence, but the two do not always go hand in hand. "Does hypnotherapy help self-esteem" is a commonly asked question. So let's look further.

Hypnotherapy can play a significant role in enhancing self-esteem. It works by addressing the root causes of negative beliefs stored in the subconscious mind. Many of these beliefs stem from past trauma or negative experiences. By exploring these underlying issues, hypnotherapy can help reframe your self-perception.

During sessions, I also use powerful techniques such as Colour Therapy and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). These methods are designed to create a unique and bespoke experience tailored to your needs. This approach allows us to address specific emotional concerns effectively.

Clients often find that, through hypnotherapy, they can release old habits and beliefs that no longer serve them. This newfound understanding can lead to better self-esteem, empowering you to embrace your true worth. Overall, this can be a beautiful process of self-development which brings with it great self-awareness.

If you are struggling with low self-esteem, I encourage you to consider hypnotherapy as a pathway to change. Together, we can work towards uncovering and healing the root causes of your challenges. You deserve to feel good about yourself and secure in who you are.

Can Hypnotherapy Stop Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks can be overwhelming and frightening. Many people seek effective solutions to regain control. One approach that has gained attention is hypnotherapy. But can hypnotherapy stop panic attacks?

Hypnotherapy seeks to address the root causes of issues. Often, panic attacks stem from trauma or negative experiences stored in the subconscious mind. By tapping into the subconscious, hypnotherapy helps to release these buried emotions. This process allows individuals to release triggers to anxiety and panic.

I have successfully helped clients eliminate panic attacks through this approach. My work primarily focuses on exploring the underlying reasons for panic. In addition, we bring in techniques and new thinking processes where helpful. Each session is unique and tailored to my client's needs. By using a combination of hypnotherapy, Colour Therapy, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), I create a bespoke experience.

Colour Therapy can help release through the subconscious and bringing knowledge to the conscious mind, which in turn helps to balance emotions. Significantly, each colour combination impacts our feelings and thoughts. By introducing colours, we can promote calmness and clarity.

EFT is another powerful tool in my practice. By combining acupressure with psychological techniques, we can reduce anxiety and promote emotional healing. This method is effective and easy to learn, empowering clients to manage their own stress.
