Research has found that even before children can talk, they notice when resources are shared unevenly – and they often prefer situations where things are divided fairly.
This early sense of fairness is part of babies’ growing social understanding and empathy. It develops through everyday interactions, turn-taking, shared play and watching how adults respond to others.
