Stress is a natural part of life. It is the body’s response to pressure, change, or challenge, and in small amounts it can motivate us to act and stay alert. However, when stress becomes constant or overwhelming, it begins to affect our physical health, mental well-being, relationships, and productivity.
Unmanaged stress can lead to fatigue, headaches, anxiety, poor concentration, sleep problems, and long-term health issues such as high blood pressure and weakened immunity. Emotionally, it can cause irritability, burnout, and a sense of losing control. Over time, stress that is ignored does not disappear—it accumulates.
Managing stress is therefore not a luxury; it is a necessity. Effective stress management helps restore balance, improves decision-making, and protects overall health. Simple practices such as regular physical activity, proper rest, healthy boundaries, deep breathing, prayer or meditation, and talking to someone you trust can significantly reduce stress levels. Identifying stress triggers and learning healthier ways to respond to them is equally important.
