Adolescent Minds Support Mission : To advocate for, and help educate adolescents on the importance of sharing their feelings

Today, October 10th, is World Mental Health Day. 🧠

For many adolescents, the pressures of growing up—from social media and school stress to family challenges—can make life feel like a private emergency. We recognize that silence is the biggest obstacle to healing. 💔

The theme this year is about Access to Service. Let's ensure that every young person in our community knows they have access to understanding, empathy, and help when their world feels like too much. 🙏

To every young person: You are seen. 👀 Your struggles are valid. Asking for help is the strongest step you can take toward self-reliance and finding your own path. 💪

Parents and Guardians: Check in on the mind, not just the grades. Listen without judgment. 👂
Let’s break the stigma and create a space where mental health is a priority, not an afterthought. 💚

*But it’s important to remember:* help is available, and su***des are preventable.

➡️ The theme for World Su***de Prevention Day, 10 September, is “Changing the Narrative on Su***de.”

*It calls for:*

🔹 Encouraging open conversations
🔹 Reducing stigma
🔹 Building understanding

*If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or having thoughts of self-harm:*

🫱🏼‍🫲🏾 Reach out to someone you trust or a mental health professional.

💬 Remember, you are not alone, and talking helps.

⚠️ If you see warning signs like mood changes or withdrawal, don’t ignore them.

🚨 Call emergency services or a crisis line if immediate help is needed.

🤗 Let’s support each other and foster a world where mental health is prioritized and no one feels they’re alone in their struggles.

Su***de is a global public health problem. Every year more than 720 000 people die as a result of su***de. The majority of these deaths (73%) occur in low- and middle-income countries. Beyond this, su***de has a ripple effect that impacts on societies, communities, friends and families who have los...
