GHANA COMMUNITY SCORECARD – ASSESSMENT VISIT

The Ghana Community Scorecard team paid an official visit to Tema General Hospital to assess service delivery across key health indicators.

Assessment Indicators & Scores:
• Caring, respectful and compassionate care
• Waiting time for provision of health care services
• Availability of medicines, diagnostic services and medical supplies
• Availability, accessibility and infrastructure
• Leadership and management of the facility
• Cleanliness and safety of the facility
• Home visits by CHO/CHN
• Home visits by CHW/CHV
• Assessment of NHIA services

Score Grade- Green(Upper)

The team was warmly received by the hospital’s management, led by Dr. Ralph Armah, alongside Dr. Augustine Quarshie, DDNS Joana Boakye, and other members of management. The visit reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare quality and strengthening community trust.

The Tema General Hospital on Tuesday , December 23, 2025 held a retirees send off ceremony, Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols and Thanksgiving Service at the forecourt of the TGH.
In the sunset ofTema,Dignitaries,TGH staff as well as Stakeholders from across the region gathered to share in the spirit of work, achievements and the season.
The Medical Director speaking on behalf of management reflected on the TGH journey thus far and urged all and sundry to see the new horizon which is achievable and not a mirage . His words resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of the vital role they play in improving health outcomes in their workspaces and communities.
As the evening drew nigh, the traditional Nine Lessons were read in different dialects ( Twi, Ga , Ewe, Dangbe, Hausa) and languages ( English and French) interspersed with carols, each touching on themes of resilience, hope, and compassion. .The TGH choir and two other sister choirs interchangeably sang the Nine carols beautifully creating an atmosphere rich with joy, sense of belonging and camaraderie. The exhortation on love and refrain was by Fr. Samuel Hymore of St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
The Medical Director, Dr Ralph Armah in his closing remarks, appreciated and chronicled all the great work and the Tema enclave support for the year and wished them well ahead of the new year.
Then the Thanksgiving service was followed with the after party of merry making and gratefulness
