GHANA COMMUNITY SCORECARD – ASSESSMENT VISIT
The Ghana Community Scorecard team paid an official visit to Tema General Hospital to assess service delivery across key health indicators.
Assessment Indicators & Scores:

* Caring, respectful, and compassionate care
* Waiting time for provision of healthcare services
* Availability of medicines, diagnostic services, and medical supplies
* Availability, accessibility, and infrastructure
* Leadership and management of the facility
* Cleanliness and safety of the facility
* Home visits by CHO/CHN
* Home visits by CHW/CHV
* Assessment of NHIA services

Score Grade: Green (Upper)
The team was warmly received by the hospital’s management, led by Dr. Ralph Armah, alongside Mr. William Asiedu, DDNS Leticia Ademan, and other members of management. The visit reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare quality and strengthening community trust.

Dialysis Facility Assessment at Tema General Hospital
Ministry of Health officials, Sally Esi Pobee Tetteh Evans Ofori Twum and Theodore Amponsah, paid a working visit to Tema General Hospital on Thursday 26th March 2026 to conduct an assessment of the hospital’s dialysis facility.

The visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry to evaluate and strengthen renal care services across healthcare institutions. During the assessment, the team reviewed the facility’s infrastructure, equipment, operational capacity, and adherence to standards required for effective dialysis service delivery.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for discussions with hospital management and staff on areas of improvement, challenges, and strategies to enhance patient care and service efficiency.

Tema General Hospital remains committed to delivering quality healthcare and continuously improving specialized services such as dialysis to meet the needs of the community.

Tema General Hospital – Dental Department Marks Successful End of Oral Hygiene Week

The Dental Department of Tema General Hospital yesterday brought its Oral Hygiene Week celebration to a successful close with impactful community outreach activities.

As part of the week-long observance, the team paid a visit to Desk School, where pupils were educated on proper oral hygiene practices, the importance of regular dental check-ups, and preventive care measures to promote healthy smiles from an early age.

In addition, a free dental screening exercise was organized at the forecourt of the Dental Department, offering members of the public the opportunity to assess their oral health and receive professional guidance from our dedicated dental team.

These initiatives form part of our continuous commitment to promoting oral health awareness and improving the well-being of our community.

We extend our appreciation to all staff, participants, and partners who contributed to the success of this year’s Oral Hygiene Week.
