TURNING VISION INTO ACTION
The UAFG Launches its first Capacity Building Training on the 7th December, 2025. The training aims at turning vision into action as UAFG Builds a Strong and Inclusive Tomorrow.
The United Abilities Foundation Gambia (UAFG), a young but dedicated organization committed to promoting the rights, dignity, and inclusion of persons with disabilities, proudly marked a historic milestone on Sunday 7th December, 2025.The UAFG successfully hosted its first-ever Capacity Building Training at Humanity First Hall, Kaw Junction— a day filled with learning, inspirations, and commitments.
We started the program with confidence and elegance under the guidance of *Amara Momoh,* who steered the event with smooth transitions and an engaging presence.
His leadership set a calm and unified tone for the entire program.
The CEO brought sincerity, humor, and inspiration to his address:
“Giving a speech is already challenging, but giving it while his mentor, Samba Batch, was sitting and listening beside him was quite challenging. It was another level of pressure," the CEO stated!
He reminded everyone that the training was not just about developing skills but about strengthening the team and reaffirming the UAFG’s mission.
As the training was about to start, Mr Barrrie, the CEO, said,
“The training is about building us—to lift people , protect their dignity, and give voice to the unheard.”
The Board Chairman delivered a powerful statement emphasizing teamwork, integrity, and the responsibility of building a strong and inclusive foundation:
“A strong organization is not built by titles, but by commitment, teamwork, and genuine service to humanity.”
His words established the seriousness and importance of the day.
Recognizing the UAFG’s commitment to gender parity, *Grace Yomba* delivered an inspiring message on youth engagement, balanced leadership, and the importance of giving young women a voice in advocacy.
Her contribution to the program was so great.
In the core session, Mr. Jaiteh opened hearts and minds by explaining the types of disabilities and the daily challenges people face.
His unforgettable statement echoed strongly:
“When we remove barriers, we open doors to dignity," said Mr Samba.
A powerful and emotional artistic moment came through *Binta Mbye* with her poem “A Seat for Everyone.”
Her performance painted a vivid picture of a society where everyone belongs; adding beauty and deep meaningful statement to the program.
*Mr. Alex A. Manneh* delivered a compelling session on ethical advocacy, media responsibility, and powerful storytelling.
“Let the media light, not a weapon," said Mr Manneh.
He urged participants to use communication as a tool for inclusion and truth.
*Yellie Bangura* led a thoughtful and inspiring recognition of the international day of Persons With Disabilities, stressing the importance of ongoing advocacy and understanding.
She reminded everyone that inclusion must not only be practiced daily, but it must also be celebrated yearly.
*Miss Rohey Bangura* delivered a deep lecture and transformative session on leadership, defining leaders as cultivators who nurture growth and steward change.
Her timeless message stood out:
“ *Leaders are born, and leaders are made* .”
She expertly tied all sessions together; highlighting how leadership, advocacy, and disability awareness intertwine.
The program concluded with heartfelt and inspiring words from *Mr. Yennie Junior Dangha,* a respected Board Member.
“When we stand together, learn together, and include everyone along the way, no mission is impossible," said Mr Dangha.
His closing remarks strengthened the spirits of teamwork, inclusion, and learning.
The day ended with a warm celebration and convivial discussion among participants. Moreover, certificates were issued out to participants as an appreciative symbol for their undented participations .
The smiles, applause, and pride in the room reflected the success and unity of the day.
