Back at NSEW Sprout 🌱— a long-time fave that’s had a fresh rebrand. Haven’t been here in a long time and was pleasantly surprised with their new offerings.

We tucked into their vegan tan tan noodle and WOW — creamy, nutty, spicy, and so satisfying with all the toppings piled high. Comfort in a bowl, minus the guilt. The Rendang with sourdough bread was rich, fragrant and deeply flavourful — that sauce deserves to be mopped up to the very last bite.

And can we talk about the drinks? 🍵 The berries matcha was refreshing with just the right hint of sweetness, and the absolute star of the table — the cutest coconut latte served in the most adorable little piggy pot. Almost too cute to pour… almost.

Love seeing a brand evolve and still stay true to its roots. If you’re looking for hearty, feel-good vegan food that doesn’t compromise on flavour, this is your sign. 💚

looking at my posts, one might think I’ve a sweet tooth. But in reality, I’m more into savories than sweet goods and certainly do not have a separate stomach for desserts. But ever since I started dabbling in vegan baking, I really appreciate how difficult it is to make them and will try not to miss a chance to try out some of the offerings when I see them. This was a vegan blueberry danish from . It’s pretty decent and a good pastry to go with your cuppa. And most importantly, I appreciate these chains offering such options. Keep it up!

Altho ubiquitously known more for their orh nee tarts, .oak actually serves some very delectable savory dishes. Went on 2 separate occasions and tried their mushroom knife-cut noodles, rose penne and the specials of the day, sourdough pepper pizza. My friends and I really love the knife-cut noodle dish. The mushrooms were so well marinated and moreish. The additions of tempeh and cashew nuts upped the textural draw of the dish. The ice cream is another highlight. Couldn’t get enough of the pistachio ice cream that I ordered it both times. The baked goods are also yummy and well executed I just wish the spinach mushroom pie can come in a bigger size! It’s a joy to dine there with the great service provided by Chloe.

Most friends know, running is one of my fav sports (or rather the only sports I’m semi ok at). And the subject of cancer has always been one that’s close to my heart. Being involved in the oncology field in my previous life as a drug maker making oncology drugs to my current life working with cancer genetics, has further fueled my passion in this field. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to combine my passions to help raise funds to advance cancer research. I hope that you will support me in every step I take in this Run for Hope. I’m pledging to run 120km (quadruple that of the official target of 29km) by 15Dec. Thank you so much! 🙏

Had to do a business lunch near paya lebar area and discovered that and .sg had partnered up to open at PLQ 3. There are plenty of plant based options on the menu and many of the meat dishes can be veganized as well. They have a weekday set lunch menu at just $18 for a 3 course meal. Quite a good deal. They hire the disadvantaged community and also focus on sustainable eating and food source so definitely a place worth supporting!

Merry Christmas! My most luxurious Xmas meal to date. We decided to treat our old bean to his first omakase meal at for Xmas this year. This plant based omakase set is specially curated by Fabian Koh and most of the ingredients were freshly air flown directly from Japan and it made a whole world of difference. Every ingredient was cooked separately which helps retain their unique flavor and taste. Every dish was so exquisite and really brought out the natural flavors of the fresh ingredients. The dishes are lightly seasoned with only some seasoned salt that accentuates the fresh vegetables.
The sets certainly don’t come cheap but only quality ingredients are used and the thoughtfulness of the chef can be felt through the dishes. Certainly a nice meal for that special occasion. Reservation and pre booking of these plant based sets are required. You will also be requested to place a deposit since they use only the freshest ingredients and we certainly don’t want them to go to waste.

long overdue post. Checked out at for brunch when we had a small window on Sunday. It’s a very small space and the distancing measures would only allow 2 tables to be seated so make sure to make reservation before heading down. Love that they do not charge extra for the non dairy milk options. Got the mushroom floss toast and the waffle. The mushroom floss was really tasty. Very nice waffle but I found the ice cream a bit icy. Check them out if you are in the Orchard area.

Brought an old friend to .loft today for brunch after not having seen her in 20 years! It was kinda sad to see Chinatown kinda like an abandoned town. Many shops are closed and there were hardly anyone around. But eat we still must. We got the no birdie no birdie but you, the U-don wanna miss a thing and the tempecey and concluded with the new earl grey cream cheese cake and a blueberry crumble tart. The frosting on the cake was so yummy, I almost asked for a bowl of it to lick off. And my friend did a double take when she tasted the udon and asked me if it’s really not salted egg yolk. .loft is now opened only from Fri-Sun, do lend your support as business is really slow these days in Chinatown.

Heard about the Nasi Tumpeng from a close indonesian friend and I’ve always been keen to get one for my father to try. So for his birthday this year, we went in search for a vegan one for him. It was quite hard to find one but so glad agreed to do it for us when my sister reached out to them. They were also very flexible and customized the dishes to our liking and request. Was so happy they agreed to make us vegan Bergedil. They were worried it won’t be nice since it’s usually made with eggs but this is really tasty too. Very impressed with this art of a dish and we definitely overate because it was so tasty! And most importantly, birthday boys enjoyed it! 🤗
