To all of Verna’s friends and relatives abroad and in the Philippines who cannot attend the wake, we’ll start a facebook live broadcast(through Verna’s Facebook account) today at 6:00pm onwards.
A facebook live will also run tomorrow for the 8:00am mass at the Holy Face Chapel in Baguio Cathedral and 10:00am inurnment at Beyond the Sunset Columbary.

Dearest Parents, Friends, and Community of Edge ‘n Pointe,

We wish we could be writing to you in better circumstances, unfortunately, it is with deep sorrow, and a heavy heart that we inform you that our beloved Teacher Verna Fajilan-Brazil has bravely ended her battle with cancer, and is now dancing on her homecoming journey to the Lord. Teacher Verna has taken a break from her rigorous earthly activities on November 8, 2023 in Bangkok , Thailand, for an eternal life of harmonious happiness in paradise. A public memorial service will be announced later.

Update we received from Ms. Verna earlier this week:

“Hi everyone! Just a quick update. Last Thursday, I was rushed to the ER of Bangkok Hospital. After which I was put in the ICU for a couple days for complications. They have just moved me to the general ward now that I’m more stable but will have to stay in the hospital long.

The cancer has progressed even more. The problem with my digestive system is also due to the cancer and that is being addressed right now.

Please keep praying. Hard for me to muster strength to hold my phone, type, share, and reply. Please share to those you think would want to be updated. Please please pray for me. Thank you so much!”

Yesterday, I received a message from one of Ms. Verna’s students who is now studying dance in New York. She asked if it would make a difference if she organised a fundraising show there, even if she was not sure about attracting a large audience. I replied to her, saying, “Do it now or regret later. Even if just one person shows up, that is one more soul who will get to know about Ms. Verna, and you will have raised awareness in one more person.”

Every little bit count, and Love Always Wins. 🙏🏽💕
