【商業電台訪問：reMatter創辦人的共鳴】
當她在假日到海灘玩得興起時，腳邊竟纏着一團塑膠垃圾，打亂了她的好心情。用手機掃一掃，竟然是來自400年前一場疫情的口罩垃圾⋯⋯
早前，商業電台節目《有誰共鳴》邀請reMatter創辦人李旭輝Alex分享創業背後的故事，他在節目中提到一件令人憂慮的事：傳統口罩至少要花400-500年才能分解，他不想自己女兒的下幾代人，仍然有機會見到自己這個時代的人用過的口罩。
為了女兒的未來，以及女兒在未來的下一代，Alex毅然投入資金研發不會對環境造成負擔的口罩，並創辦了香港首個生物可降解口罩品牌reMatter。
reMatter口罩被棄置到堆填區後，在缺乏氧氣的環境下會而自然分解為二氧化碳、水及其他無毒氣體，其生物可降解程序更已獲國際認可的Intertek實驗室頒發綠葉證書，大大減低對下一代造成影響。
The best is yet to come，最好的尚未來臨，只要堅持下去，總會等待到美好的未來。在持續不懈的推廣下，在日常生活中改用漸漸生物可降解口罩的人，相信會愈來愈多。
[CRHK Interview: A resonant story of the reMatter’s founder]
Her holiday mood was ruined when she found her leg tangled with a ball of plastic waste as she was having a whale of a time at the beach. There, she was shaken by the scanning result on her phone for it was an ancient piece of junk from a pandemic that plagued human 400 years ago…
The founder of reMatter, Alex Lee, was featured in the CRHK’s program Share My Song earlier in which he shared the brand’s story. On the program, he mentioned his distressing concern on mask waste for it takes 400-500 years for traditional masks to be disintegrated and the last thing he wanted is his next generation and their next to find themselves in a world contaminated by the masks we used at our times.
For the sake of his daughter and grandchildren, Alex poured his effort and investment on the research and development of masks that are burden-free for the environment and founded reMatter - the first biodegradable mask brand in Hong Kong.
At landfills, reMatter masks can be degraded into CO2, water and other harmless gas due to the oxygen-free environment. The process is certified by the globally-recognised Intertek under the Green Leaf mark, and hugely lowered the amount of pollution it caused.
The best is yet to come. With faith and perseverance, we will see a brighter future. We believe our persistence efforts in promoting biodegradable masks will make a gradual change in people’s mask-wearing habits.
It is only if we all firmly stand by the same faith in environmental protection and commit to it through our actions in daily lives can a clean and pleasant future be created.
