It was an absolute honor to take the stage at The University of Hong Kong yesterday! 🎤💊
A huge thank you to the HKU Pharmacology and Pharmacy and the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 (𝗖𝗣𝗛𝗖) for the invitation to speak on a topic very close to my heart: 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. 🌍✨
As pharmacists and healthcare providers, our mission goes beyond just dispensing medication—it’s about understanding the person behind the prescription. During the seminar, we dived deep into:
🔹 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆: How addressing cultural nuances can prevent common drug-related problems in Hong Kong’s diverse population. 🤝
🔹 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻 & 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Navigating safe and effective medication dose adjustments for patients observing the holy month. 🌙⭐
🔹 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: The vital importance of accommodating hashtag and hashtag needs in pharmaceutical care to ensure patient trust and compliance. 🌱📜
In an increasingly multicultural world, bridging the gap between clinical practice and diverse beliefs 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 "𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲"—𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆. 🏥❤️
Special thanks to the HKUMed – The University of Hong Kong for the warm welcome and for fostering such an important dialogue. 🎓🙌
A special thanks to Professor Joseph Blais & Professor Emily for their support.
